A new report by the Citizens Utility Board says ComEd customers may be overpaying their bill -- to the tune of $189 million. The board suggested some measures that customers take in order to reduce their bills, like using compact florescent lights in place of traditional bulbs adding blinds to the mix in the summertime.
ComEd was in the news last month when the Illinois General Assembly passed legislation that would allow the energy provider to raise customer rates, which is set to bring in an extra $156 million for the company. The legislative battle over the bill led to a scuffle between two lawmakers on the Senate floor. Gov. Pat Quinn says he will veto the bill.
