Quinn Requests Federal Dollars For Flooded Downstate Counties
Gov. Pat Quinn has requested federal assistance for the 21 southern Illinois counties that faced heavy flooding this spring. Expenses related to the natural disasters' damage in Alexander, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Jefferson, Lawrence, Marion, Massac, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Randolph, Saline, Union, Wabash, Washington, Wayne, White and Williamson counties is estimated to be more than $20 million, according to a release from Quinn's office. Quinn declared a state of disaster on April 25.
