Thank you to schwicksdad for these words. If the shoe fits....

“Most of the GoPhers and baggers that post on this board and post such things are people that fit in three catagories:

1) I'm retired with a stable decent income and don't need a job;

2) I have a job, it's stable and secure, it wasn't impacted by the recession and I'm not out looking for work;

3) I own a business or am a professional that is still doing well or hasn't been impacted by the recession so I don't need to look for a job;

They like to tell others what THEY should be doing when it comes to a job and work because they think that since some of their tax money goes to pay unemployment compensation they have a right to dictate to others what they should be doing...Some come here and profess what THEY would be doing IF it were THEM out of a job and insist that THEY would have been back to work a long, long time ago if it were THEM...They all enjoy telling the jobless what they should be doing, what they should accept, that they should take lower paying work, work two jobs, work three jobs, work four jobs, start a side business, yada, yada, yada...a few like to tell you how THEY lost their jobs once and how THEY pulled themselves out of it...you know, at a time when the economy was actually GOOD, not in a recession...But the conservative mindset is, "It worked for me and it should work for you unless you are lazy and don't want to work"....Not one of them I have ever seen post on these threads has come back and said, "Oh yeah, I lost my $100K a year job so I went right down to McDonalds and got hired and I've been working there making $8 an hour ever since"”

And thanks to schwicksdad for this one as well. I dedicate this one to the woman with the wedged-in broomstick. May it never come out. All your brains would come tumbling out of there:

Yeah...some "national hiring day" huh?

We're hiring 50,000 people to all work 15 hours a week....That essentially means a three hour per day window for the breakfast rush, the lunch rush, the dinner rush and the late night rush.

There are approximately 13,000 McDonalds in the US at last count

In short, Mc Donalds added ONE part time person per each "rush" period per store in the US.

msanonymouth, This all or nothing at all attitude is the cause of a sluggish recovery.

And…….. your alternative is to wait for $4,000 every year from a cash strapped government to solve this problem, (good luck with that)!

Anyone waiting for their $100k jobs to return will be waiting a very long time. This mindset to fight, advocate and insist on HR589 WITHOUT the same vigor and ambition to fight for any job creating policies is selfish & pathetic. What you & your post failed to include are those holding out not taking part-time jobs to help contribute to the economy.

@msanonymous222: LOL LOL! That broom analogy was hilarious BUT the lady wouldn't understand because its above her pay-grade! www.american99ersunion.com

McDonalds, Part-time: $7 – 24K/yr.

Waiting for HR589, Full-time: $ 0 – 4K?/yr?

Hard work & perseverance = priceless
Pride & ego = valueless

People who can do BOTH of these things, aka multitasking: take a part-time job IF THEY CAN FIND ONE AND GET HIRED AT ONE, and fight for HR589 (i.e., walk and chew gum at the same time)=priceless

Mom=useless, as usual

Still neglecting the most important task of all; fighting, advocating or uniting for serious job creating policies! Wow, so you could walk & chew gum at the same time. Once you finally clean the broken bubble gum off of your faces you will realize you’re only walking in circles.

mom is worth the price of admission to any circus show! CLUELESS!!!

LOL

HR 589 is still in HWM Committee so keep FAXING-EMAILING-TWEETS going! Media is in their usual no news cycle so its good to send CNN/MSNBC emails regarding this bill in Committee while MILLIONS of 99ers without JOBS nor a viable JOBS BILL introduced from the 112th Congress, hold on! www.american99ersunion.com

It is on the same desk in the HWM as a lot of other dead bills. Maybe you will see it in Dec when the ext runs out on others. What will that be two years?? You will have better luck picking up cans!

Last year around this time the term, “99er” was born and the fight for a tier 5 began. Although I personally disagreed with this “short-term” strategy of advocating for more than 99 weeks of compensation to save the economy, I must admit, it was not totally ridiculous and a real lifeline for some. NOW, over one year latter with no action by congress, the national debt constantly underneath a microscope for amputation and, companies beginning to hire by the thousands again, I find it difficult to comprehend that anyone can continue to suddenly expect to find 14 “more” weeks of unemployment compensation benefits in their long expired TeleServe accounts.

According to the administration the economy is moving forward. You will never see the administration deny this position or act in direct conflict by pushing or authorizing more than 99 weeks of unemployment at this time without congress. This is exactly why (IMO) HR589 will never fly as an emergency pay-go action. To make matters worse for HR589 advocates, Rep Lee & Company hung their hat on the emergency paygo approach and discontinued searching for ways to pay for this bill which will be the “only” way it could ever get past the republicans.

(Just my personal opinion).

I think the reason they never really looked for a way to pay for it was just that they never really had any hope for it to pass. Was just grand standing to their base. Like you say the TeleServe accounts have been closed now to long. This bill will just hang out in the WMC. All the Faxes, emails and phone calls will not put it back together again.

Have you two ever given any thought to actually LEARNING about what's going on? Yeah, didn't think so. Your tripe should be labeled "Beavis and Butthead Discuss Unemployment," for about as useless as it all is.

http://thecongressionalblackcaucus.com/wp-content/uploads/budget-breakdo...

So Sorry. I was not telling you or no one to stop emailing or faxing. From looking back on the post you and one or two others have been doing so for a very long time. I give you credit for that. I do think you would agree that after almost 2 years of no benefits most have moved on. Those that had to take part time or less paying jobs or even had to move. Just saying most that could not hold on as long as you or a few others have. Those with no other income. Go right on with the emails and the faxing I wish you luck. Sorry if I upset your day. Was just my view. I never really see the bill making it to the floor

That CBC alternative budget is so lopsided & bias it comical.
I noticed a provision for waste & fraud in the DOD but absolutely no mention of fraud & waste in entitlement or social service programs. But more importantly the CBC cannot find $16 billion for HR589. BTW, if there are currently 13 million unemployed and all will be entitled to 14 additional weeks if needed, HR589 cost would be closer to $60 Billion.

Sorry, but I refuse to view life through your eyes and stoop to your level of name calling when disagreeing. The CBC alternative budget also penalizes top earners. DO YOU KNOW WHATS GOING ON? People exactly like you are destroying this country, maybe already have!

We continue OUR fight for HR 589. EMAILS-FAXES-TWEETS to your REPS in both houses returning 5/2/2011. www.american99ersunion.com

The fanatical Paul Ryan BOOED at a town hall meeting for his opposing TAX HIKES to the Richest Americans. He's right about ONE thing and that is the middle-class are disappearing thanks to 8 years of President Bush and the Republican/Tea Party to busy going after AARP to even pass a comprehensive JOBS BILL. These people at this town-hall are too savvy to believe the B.S. And Paul Ryan is the ass that introduced his OWN budget cut legislation that cut every program out there including Medicare! His own budget committee said it wouldn't make a dent in debt reduction until 2050?? Its all a game with them while the unemployed suffer, the middle-class gradually disappears AND this Republican budget of Ryan's that cuts into everything!! Unbelievable how these asses can sleep at night without some toxic beverage or psych RX. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfegLR6YxQg

Remember On April 15, they passed an all-out assault on vital programs, including Medicare, to pay for massive giveaways to millionaires and billionaires—while doing almost nothing to balance the budget. The bill was passed without even a single Democratic vote.

This “budget” bill is a fraud on the American people—not a starting point for debate or negotiations. It is no more of a deficit reduction plan than Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s taking away rights from workers was a budget plan.

A budget that’s only passed the U.S. House of Representatives isn’t law. But the big danger is that the Senate will try to cut a deal that meets House Republicans halfway and worsens the imbalance in our economy. We can’t let that happen.

Tell your senators and President Obama to reject the House Republican budget fraud—and create a responsible 2012 budget that funds the America we believe in.

Congressional Republicans have hidden the motivations behind their policies again and again. Here are the facts:

They told us it was about reducing the deficit. But the budget House Republicans passed does virtually nothing about the long-term deficit problem. It cuts $4.3 billion in spending while handing out $4.2 trillion in tax giveaways that disproportionately favor corporations and the rich. The net deficit reduction? A pathetic $155 billion. 1.

They told us it was about reining in out-of-control health care costs for seniors. But the budget House Republicans passed forces seniors to pay dramatically more for less health care—it does nothing to control health care costs, but destroys Medicare as we know it, replacing it with underfunded vouchers. Under the House-passed 2012 budget, out-of-pocket health care costs for a typical 65-year-old will more than double in the first year alone, increasing by more than $6,000. 2.

They told us it was about addressing the jobs crisis. But the budget House Republicans passed will eliminate an estimated 1.7 million to 2.2 million jobs over two years. 3.

They told us it was about creating a better future for our children. But the budget House Republicans passed literally takes food out of the mouths of hungry children by cutting food assistance for low-income families. It kicks 200,000 kids out of Head Start, cuts funding for elementary and secondary schools by 25 percent and slashes college aid for 8 million students. 4.
No matter what House Republicans say, the bill they passed—which does almost nothing to reduce the deficit, demolishes Medicare and gives $4.2 trillion in tax cuts to the wealthy—shows they’re squarely siding with corporate America and against working families.

Demand that your senators and President Obama reject this complete budget fraud that devastates working families, children and seniors.

President Obama recognizes we can’t follow the path of radical House Republicans who are willing to kill millions of jobs, destroy Medicare, give away $4.2 billion in tax breaks disproportionately to corporations and the rich and do almost nothing about the deficit. He’s made clear he understands why Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security are so important to working people.

But even the president does not have the balance right yet between spending cuts and the need to raise revenue from Wall Street, corporations and the millionaires and billionaires who have benefited for years from our broken economy, which has failed working people miserably.

Corporate CEOs have seen explosive income growth and declining tax burdens for years. And they caused our economic crisis. It’s time for them to pay their fair share to create jobs and fix our crumbling infrastructure. Once that happens, working people can do our part to fix our long-term budget problems. But it’s got to be done in a fair way.

Urge President Obama and your senators to reject the outrageous House Republican budget bill.

Whether you’re a Republican, an Independent or a Democrat, I hope you recognize today’s corporate Republican politicians—from Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker to U.S. House Speaker John Boehner—have swung too far toward favoring corporate America at the expense of the rest of us. And I hope you’ll join us in opposing the House Republican budget.

Thanks for joining our fight for sanity in the federal budget.

Christine pours her heart and soul into this .... helping others on this lame blog to try to help the downtrodden...and YOU just put a monkey wrench into it all the time, along with your sidekick JT...WHY???? Just to pick apart what others are doing WHILE working that sad sack job? GET THE F'''OUT OF HERE already!!!!

I'd worry very little about your definitions of my work history, and really worry a lot more about what you're doing in work and in life--especially since you lied about losing your job at Macy's to make someone else look bad, and then offered up jobs at that horrible employer you were just SHOCKED by when you think everyone forgot about it. You're just always such a fool, Mom, among other things.

And if posting a few posts instead of one post is "posting more," the only thing it proves is that you CAN count above 1, and that you're obsessed with my posting here at a rate of 1, or of more.

Now...I'm off to work.

www.american99ersunion.com Congress returns 5/2/2011 so keep EMAILING-FAXING-TWEETS for HR 589 in Committee.

Hahaha...now I remember! The one who was so paranoid about someone getting them fired from a lame Macy's job! And NOW she posts Macy's jobs for others? When she supposedly got fired by you...Ms Anonymous? LMAO!!!! It is all becoming so crystal clear - the Looney Tune is Paranoid! And Clueless as to who needs a job and when....oi vey....get MOM off of here!

@msanonymous222: Perspective post at Tuesday 3:43pm to mom about McDonald's. People like her are living in a bubble, she criticized me about not including HR 870 in my post BUT was too dense to realize or take the time to READ its contents to understand the non-relationship of the two! She and the entitlement guy jt are here but they have no life and no communicative skills which is where the CLONES enter, help then and screw up the PI site! BOTH of them are without lives and of course CLUELESS. I think BOTH would fit right in with the dong beetle habitat.

Dear ----- -------

I am writing you today as a long term unemployed American. In a time when unemployment is so high, when there is one job for every five job seekers, millions of Americans simply cannot be left behind. We are tax paying citizens that are responsible for each and every one of you still being employed. We deserve to be treated better than this. H.R.589, The Emergency Unemployment Compensation Extension Act of 2011, Respectfully, is the right thing to do asap.

Are you making fun of the less fortunate by that comment? I would think that this weekend most of all would be one that people would try to find compassion and empathy within themselves for others who are suffering and less fortunate. Just because you are unemployed does not mean that you don't have the right to have the same wants as anyone else. The only reason that the unemployed do not have the ability to purchase basic needs and wants is that there are not enough jobs out there. Why in these times do others that are more fortunate try to falsely project negative attributes to unemployed people such as drug abuse, bad health habits, laziness, lower intelligence, etc. Unemployed persons, especially the long term unemployed should not be made an "underclass" just because they lost their jobs due to no fault of their own. Statements such as the one above prove that some people that are not in this horrible situation are terrified that they may be one day and are acting out in fear and ugliness. This should be a time of moral reflection and generosity to those less fortunate.

NewKid -- are you just NOW getting to get the gist of Mom, JT (aka HideInSeek)'s lame attempt at contributing to these blogs, also known as NOTHING? You are right - on this most holiest of days for the world, it does not surprise me that he once again criticizes the downtrodden and forsaken - Jesus would surely think for what have his people done to deserve to be talked about in this manner - once again, shame on JT/Hideinseek for his nasty, ill will toward others comments....He helps no one and others can see thru all the negativity and sarcasm. Happy Easter all. He Has Risen.

With all due respect nobody knows for certain if Jesus is a Republican, Democrat or Independent, lol. Nonetheless, true Christians respect the opinions of others 365 days a year, not just on Easter & Christmas. Calling republicans or those with conservative views drunks, weepers, useless, drug addicts, clueless, evil, heartless, witches etc, is simply the continuation of an ideologues strategy to use the “holiest of holy days” as a talking point. Shame on those now playing the “Easter card”.

@newkid, this message was not directed at you. You have always shown great respect and peace in your heart when discussing issues.

A very Happy Easter to Everyone celebrating this Joyous weekend.

He is risen indeed! Allelujia!

@pdwa118: Remember that jt is the guy who was his own WEEPER of the house during the fight for UI extensions last year, and now that he's on the entitlement program of social security he continues to vilify those fighting for continued UI benefits AND then turns around with a new tune of how much is enough! He conveniently forgot the previous UI extensions he enjoyed which had 3 UI extensions and sure didn't hear any cries of "Enough is Enough" echoing from his hypocritical mouth but he was reaping the benefits of the continuous UI extensions in early 2010! What would be tragic is if HIS entitlement check was reduced by the Republicans and Tea Partiers by 37% as is one of many proposals in the 112th Congress because its clear jt doesn't keep up with current events as we ALL found out when his state of Oregon passed extension of UI benefits for their unemployed because the economy is not improving the way it should! We ALL would see that same chameleon CRYING the blues about the mean old Republicans. Neither jt or mom are intelligent enough to see the world that revolves, they still believe the earth is flat and if wander too far YOU will fall off! CLUELESS and CONFUSED! LOL!!

pdwa118: Consider the source/s and don't be surprised. If Christ walked among us humans dressed as it was back then, the likes of the 2 CLUELESS posters would turn their noses up at this spirit and yell "GET A JOB". Consider the source with those 2 who are just trying to get a RISE to stay on this thread. Nothing more comfortable then a PI security blanket, a 5th of whatever is on sale thats 10% alcohol AND of course a bottle of RX Ambien psych pills to keep the ball rolling. www.american99ersunion.com

Not getting in a religious dialogue BUT the Ambien Queen wouldn't know a true Christian from a NON-true Christian if either one walked up and slapped his or her face! No concept whatsoever but always trying to stay in the fray even if it makes her look like a complete jackass once again! LOL LOL. A true Christian????? GMAB!

112th CONGRESS- WHERE IS THE COMPREHENSIVE JOBS BILL SINCE YOU CLAIM "JOBS" IS THE #1 PRIORITY.. WHERE ARE THE JOBS???? 112th CONGRESS!

Maybe most have left here because there is nothing being posted of value? Christine, as always, posting the same thing over and over. Blame the Republicans game...getting old and boring. Her/his little clone is not here to help her/him on this one....probably strung/burnt/passed out on that ol' winebox.

Sure not missed, thats for sure! What he/she should be doing is joining the fight against the Republicans who are going after MEDICARE! jt is receiving those entitlement checks of Social Security that maybe in jeopardy with this 112th Congress of Neanderthals! "Medicare on Chopping Block" House Republicans have passed a scorched-earth "budget" bill that puts your Medicare on the chopping block.

This bill is fraud on the American people—not a starting point for debate or negotiations. It uses hardly any money from raiding your future or current Medicare to balance the budget. Instead, it uses that money to give tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires: folks like Wall Street traders, oil and gas speculators, and corporate CEOs who ship American jobs overseas.

Urge your senators and President Obama to completely reject this radical bill, which not only destroys Medicare, but kills millions of jobs, gives away $4.2 trillion in tax breaks disproportionately to corporations and the rich, and does almost nothing about the deficit.

We need your help to make sure the Senate doesn’t try to cut a deal that meets House Republicans halfway. Take action now:

Weeper of the House John Boehner opens to repealing Oil Company Tax Breaks??? So far nothing on a comprehensive JOBS BILL in this jobless economy AND nothing yet on HR 589. Those who can CALL please CALL your US Senators and tell them these 2 crisis should and are #1.

Hideinseek,
Thanks for your support. You just described the atmosphere here perfectly. Christine has turned this forum into her own personal bulletin board for bashing republicans and conservatives views while “pretending” to fight for the 99ers. I don’t call that a forum at all! If there is anyone left in the rafters, they certainly know by now what a liberal ideologue she is.

Pdwa118 only post her angry personal feelings about me & Jt. I don’t call that a forum at all! I’m sure if she were to show her mommy & daddy the things she posts on the Internet to others, they would not be proud of her?

“Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people” - ER

First thing on the calendar when congress returns next week is the deficit and the farm bill. I don’t believe HR589 is a priority nor has any validity since roughly only one to two thousand people out of 13 million unemployed support it.

IL passed legislation to prevent Potential employers from checking a applicant's credit and KUDOS for that. NJ - KUDOS to your state. "NJ employers can’t discriminate against unemployed"

Employers in New Jersey can no longer exclude unemployed people when they advertise job vacancies in their companies.

Legislation barring the practice was recently signed into law by Republican Gov. Chris Christie, who had conditionally vetoed an earlier version of the measure. Violators will face fines of up to $1,000 for the first offense and $5,000 for subsequent offenses.

The bill prohibits employers from publishing job advertisements — in print or online — that state that unemployed individuals can’t apply for the position. Proponents say the measure, which may be the first of its kind in the United States, addresses a growing national problem

Very good for the state of New Jersey. Someone is finally acting with common sense. For the life of me, I cannot understand why employers would not want the unemployed applying for open positions at their companies; never have understood this, never will. This seems like another way to brand the unemployed people of this recession an "underclass" and I cannot believe that there is no federal anti-discrimination law against this practice to cover all 50 states. This world is upside down, for instance; why is the royal wedding in Great Britian getting more media coverage than the plight of the long term unemployed ever got?

Newkid
Good question.
I agree. The 111th congress failed to act on HR 3549, banning employers from running credit checks on new applicants and existing employees.

That bill was quickly forgotten along with the bill for eliminating the federal tax on unemployment checks. They also removed the federal $2400 tax credit. You mentioned you didn’t understand all this. IMO, it’s because congress believes they do not work for us, they work for the IRS & themselves.
As far as why people give more attention to the royal wedding than our sad economy might be because some people cherish fantasy more than their own reality. Just my opinion.

Kudos to Trump for doing what Clinton couldn’t do; get Obama to cough up his proof of citizenship. Now Obama can get on with more important things like the Oprah show & campaigning for his re-election while the American economy circles the drain.

Likewise, maybe The People can get on with more important things other than focusing a non-issue like somebody's birth certificate.

Unemployedtroll,
I wanted to answer your question from last week but forgot.
“Alex” was the homeless 99er living in his van who sadly took his own life last year.

LOL LOL! The TROLLS/CLONES are at it again trying to set the agenda and CHANGE the topic from unemployment to the 2012 Presidential election as predicted this would happen several comments back. (I have already REPORTED the off-topic direction) The clone mom & sidekick set it up perfectly! Interesting article by Mark Karlin about the ultra-rich and conservative Koch Foundation paying to MAKE sure President Obama is a ONE-TERM President. The BUSH TAX CUTS cost is almost $4 TRILLION dollars added to the debt over 10 years, the republicans refuse to pass HR 4213 if this piece of legislation was not included and they did give a damn how it would be paid for! Thats the hypocrisy of the Republican tea party as we all know also by HR 589 still in the HWMs committee with no JOBS BILL from the 112th Congress via the clock - http://www.dems.gov/blog-gop-no-job-clock

I know what you speak of Christine....let not the other bashers try TO BASH the peeps that TRY TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR THE UNEMPLOYED.....AM WITH YOU EVERY DAY IN SPIRIT AND FAXES!!!!!

This article shows how insensitive these elitists are because they are using the desperation of the unemployed for THEIR own political agenda.. "MARK KARLIN, EDITOR OF BUZZFLASH AT TRUTHOUT"

The Koch brothers are launching a recruiting blitz on Facebook for maintaining the plutocracy.

In the last few days, I have encountered endless paid ads in the right-hand column of Facebook for a program called “Liberty at Work.” “Looking for Work?” the ad asks. It then describes positions throughout the country for advancing “conservative and libertarian” causes.

Clicking through the “Liberty at Work” ad brings you to an eponymous Facebook site (see “Welcome” on the Facebook page) that announces, “You no longer have to come to DC to advancing [sic] economic freedom.” In the “likes” section on the left-hand side of the page are listed a few of the local right-wing think tanks that an April 25 Mother Jones article discusses: “Inspired by Ronald Reagan and funded by the right’s richest donors, a web of [national] free-market think tanks has fueled the nationwide attack on workers’ rights.”

Many of these institutions are funded by the Koch brothers.

Furthermore, by clicking libertyatwork.org (on the Facebook info page), you are redirected to the Charles G. Koch Foundation Liberty at Work application page.

The Kochs are so brazen that they do not try to hide their effort to beef up and expand local right-wing propaganda. They boast about it. Take a look around the full Koch Foundation web site and see for yourself, beginning at the Liberty at Work program description:

Washington isn’t the only city where change happens; important public policy decisions are made everyday in states across the country. From Chicago to Atlanta, the Koch Associate Program has grown to include organizations both in and outside of DC, but the need for effective advocates for liberty continues to expand on the state level. This was the impetus behind the launch of Liberty@WorkTM.

The invasion has begun.

@12:37pm. Google help you find the links to Alex's story! YOU FORGOT! Yeah right, you didn't know and had to research to find out. A true advocate would know AND a whatabe would have to research for the answer. Now will the CLONES go back to their other websites before PI has another IT shutdown. www.american99ersunion.com

LOL, unemployed troll and myself used your board today, I hope you don’t mind.

You are making little sense. You been hitting the bottle?

I agree. What the heck is a “whatabe”?
I googled it (lol) and came up empty.

Oh boy,,,Mom and JT hitting their bottle and keep "speaking to themselves" again......they took our reterique again.

Mom and jt - DO YOU KNOW WHAT RETERIQUE MEANS?

For those on twitter, show your 99ers unity!

Message!
HR 589 will add 14 additional weeks to tier I of unemployment benefits. This bill is crucial for survival for millions of 99ers. There are currently 3 million jobs available for more than 15 million unemployed. The number of 99ers grows weekly and is an issue that needs attention asap. People who have worked their whole lives have lost their jobs and have been unable to find even the most menial job for 2 yrs or more. Never before in the history of the US have unemployment benefits been cut off while the UE rate is so high. Show you support your fellow jobless Americans and raise awareness by using this twibbon. Thank You!

ADVOCACY LETTER FOR HR 589 AND JOBS..

To:

I am writing to urge you to take quick and immediate action on behalf of the Unemployed in America, especially the large number of
long-termed unemployed who have already exhausted all available weeks of unemployment compensation. We do not qualify for assistance from local, state or Federal programs for the basic living needs such as food, shelter, required daily medications, clothing and assistance with utilities. For those who may qualify for some of these programs, they are not being assisted because many of the government and charity organizations that provide these necessities have suffered budget, funding and donation cuts. Without the lifeline of unemployment insurance benefits, unemployed Americans will not be able to procure the basic necessities to simply live.

I am also writing to urge you to resolve the issue of insufficient jobs in America. Until a feasible Job Creation Plan is created by our government, I urge you, as MY VOICE in Congress to support and/or co-sponsor HR 589, Representative Barbara Lee's proposed legislation to add 14 weeks of additional weeks of unemployment benefits to Tier 1. The unemployed in America are NOT content to merely exist from the lifeline unemployment insurance benefits provide. We want to be able to rebuild our lives, our savings, our hope and dreams for a brighter tomorrow. We are unable to do that without JOBS.

We desperately need your assistance so that we can again realize a bright future for ourselves and our loved ones. JOB CREATION must become the number one priority, for without it, we will be unable to compete and sustain the standards in which our Country was founded on.
Support HR 589 and pass and/or create the bills necessary to promote JOB creation in America. Our lives, the lives of our family members and the overall economic health of America is dependent on this to survive and overcome the current economic crisis our country is now facing.

Thank you,

Name,
address, email address.

Nice letter. Thank you for upgrading your strategy by demanding that congress provide a real jobs plan. It was also a wise decision to eliminate the statement that the long term unemployed are taxpaying citizens.

More importantly, it would be nice if the American 99ers union and/or the CBC with Rep Lee could create a “stand alone bill” discouraging companies to outsource jobs & manufacturing. This might be a quicker resolution as opposed to waiting around for the republicans to agree that after ONE YEAR without benefits for the 99ers it’s suddenly an “emergency” therefore qualifying for emergency paygo status.

I will add this letter is much better. Before I said it sounds like someone downtown asking me for extra change. I may of sounded harsh; yet, I feel had a point. This one sounds more real. Asking for JOBS..Not just one time benefits. Good Job Christine.

@12:20pm. Every Time YOU & your CLONE post something, it further deepens the reality that YOU really are CLUELESS because no one can be that out of touch. All that was mentioned in the conspicuous post HAD already been mentioned by me and others several times especially demanding a JOBS BILL and a standalone bill OR a amendment added to ANY bill. You are CLUELESS and can't see the big picture because your brain is fogged from all that Ambien RX you take! You do better by NOT posting anything because you just continue to let others see how CLUELESS you really are. We know you will continue because PI is your security blanket and thats a sorry commentary for people such as it is. #1 Priority is HR 589 UI extension for the 99ers AND a viable JOBS BILL for the umpteenth time! Outsourcing? NICE TRY! Open up your own PRIVATE chat room and start a crusade, you have too much time on your hands anyway. www.american99ersunion.com

Did the CLONE actually say "suddenly its a emergency" WOW it always has been a emergency, just ask those 99ers that are homeless like Paul or Alexandra!!!! By the grace of God those that have survived still know it is a EMERGENCY and politics in Washington continues just as the fight for HR 589 continues. The stupidity of some who evade the issue is deliberate! BUSH TAX CUTS extended with a price-tag of $3.7 TRILLION dollars and the Republicans didn't demand paygo! They wanted it and didn't give a damn how it was funded BUT thats ok, so now here we go again with paygo but it didn't apply when it came to the BUSH TAX CUTS thanks to the Republicans and teabaggers! You can play that sorry tune on another website because "Stupid is as Stupid does". We know better!!

Christine...You are a very unhappy sad soul. Your anger and total hate for the world and this country shows in every post you put up. For whatever reason, you are unable to work. Maybe your attitude is one of the major road blocks. You have had two years of checks. Then a state retraining program and still no luck. Maybe it is time to look in the mirror and have a good attitude adjustment? We tax payers were not put on earth to take care of you. Your head is really mixed up. Take responsibility for you own lot in life and grow up.

"US JOBLESS CLAIMS RISE TO HIGHEST LEVEL SINCE JANUARY,REPORT SHOWS" http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/28/us-jobless-claims-april-2011_n_...

There are benefits available for those new unemployment claims reported today. I have to agree with the poster commenting on your anger and retaliatory persona. You cannot accept criticism or compliments as you clearly displayed today. I also thought your new style letter was much more balanced and attacked the root cause and not just the temporary quick fix as shown in your previous cries for help. I couldn’t find anywhere in the progress Illinois mission statement mentioning this thread is exclusively devoted to requesting unemployment extensions. Perhaps if all your many efforts were more focused on the long term remedy your your personal cause wouldn’t appear so vain. God knows you had the time to fight harder for jobs.

LOL LOL! I'm not biting from that apple either! You CLONE-ETTES are so in unison & obvious, WE see right through what is being attempted and M.V. does as well. This PI website will not be suckered in or brought down by CLONES and HACKERS who could care less about the 99ers or the unemployed as a whole.. NICE TRY as stated. LOL LOL!!! www.american99ersunion.com

Then maybe you should ask them to remove everyone from the site other than you. Then you can talk to yourself all day. Much of what you seem to do.Since you prefer no one else on here other than yourself I suggest that you get two emails and just email yourself.

112th Congress - WHERE ARE THE JOBS! WHY HAS NO JOBS BILL BEEN INTRODUCED!

Do you really even look for a job? If someone post Jobs on here you become upset with anger. Your only goal seems clear...more checks from the Government. Two years; then some; not enough for you? Do you really even plan to work? And if things are so hard for you why are you still with INTERNET service and all the time day and night to beg for free money on the backs of others? Just wondering.

Christin
Oh I care about the 99ers. No need for you to be so maniacal. The only difference is I care far beyond any extension can provide for and perhaps so should you if your goal is to truly restore your lives as you claim. After one long year of advocating for a fifth tier with no results you really need to review this question, “who exactly are the clueless ones”? No one denies the 99ers need jobs. What’s been long missing from your approach is advocating for jobs. You seem to cling to the original category Progress Illinois gave this thread early on, “unemployment”. That quick hit was dropped a long time ago and replaced with the “economy”. The economy should be the new focus if you have any fiscal responsibility. I don’t pick up on any fiscal responsibility from you; I only read your angry snippets of someone short changed in life who spends her time blaming everyone under the sun. Tier 5 can't solve that problem.

On Line blogger...You hit the ball on mark. Very good post. It is all about Jobs. It is also the private sector that will give us Jobs and Growth..not the Government. All they can do is get out of the way and support small and large business as much as they can. Get them to invest...give them a reason to grow and invest. You will not do that with tax increases. As of now the Government has not done that enough. What would 14 weeks really do? What after the 14 weeks? She really is pushing for a life time entitlement. I know there are those that need help; yet, 14 weeks, as you say, will not solve the problem. The Government can not keep printing money and running the credit card limits to the max. Doing so will result in a weaker dollar and watch for inflation...it is on the way.

But our politicians don't have any fiscal responsibility and they are the ones that were voted into office to do something about the mess that this country is in.

ONCE AGAIN - NO JOBS BILL INTRODUCED by the Republican controlled 112th CONGRESS! 3 JOB BILLS INTRODUCED by the 111th CONGRESS and ALL were BLOCKED by the Republicans. www.american99ersunion.com

One in six Americans is now on government aid,” “Liberals consider this a sign that their system is working.” “Boy, that Trillion dollar stimulus worked wonders, didn’t it?”. (These are just a few great comments made at this site).

http://politic365.com/2010/08/31/1-in-6-americans-receiving-government-a...

According to the USA today study, more than 40 million people are receiving food stamps (up 50% since the Recession began) and an additional 10 million people receive unemployment benefits. 4.4 million are on welfare. As caseloads increase dramatically, so have the costs: $273 billion for Medicaid and $160 billion for unemployment insurance. “Boy, that Trillion dollar stimulus worked wonders, didn’t it?”.

http://politic365.com/2010/08/31/1-in-6-americans-receiving-government-a...

I got another great idea; let’s throw another $60 Billion at unemployment expansions so by 2012 there will be three in six Americans dependent on government aid. (sarcasm).
Sorry all of you dixie chicks out there. Come 2012 67% of American "clones" (lol) will not allow this country to slip into socialism.

Trump drops the “F” bomb.

I love this guy more & more each day. He doesn’t have to wait until the microphone is turned off or go hide in the back room to speak honestly. He says Saudi Arabia is raising the price of gas and Obama is doing nothing about it. The president of the most powerful nation on the planet said he has no control over OPEC.

http://www.mediaite.com/online/donald-trump-drops-f-bomb-during-speech-a...

Trump is OK.

But you gotta understand that it's easy to be honest when nobody can fire you.
Unlike the President he is not an elected civil servant.

Maybe someone should ask Trump what he thinks of TierV.
I bet he is clever enough to support it.
(Given that somebody explains the details to him...needless to say - I volunteer...)

Good point!
However as you say, Trump is clever enough to know that his raw honesty is what is greatly needed and just might get him elected. He understands that "he" represents the people NOT that the people represent him.

I’m also very certain he is well aware that this country is suffering (he said those exact words). He might help the 99ers in a very different way by bringing jobs back to America before congress needs to legislates more unemployment extensions for the next 5 years.

I can’t blame Trump for being upset over high oil prices, the Sikorsky S-76B helicopter is not cheap to fill up.

lol

Donald Trump comes across as an egotistical loud mouth who is feeding off of the vulnerability of the economy. People were looking for a Messiah so they voted for Barack Obama. When they realized that he really wasn’t the Messiah (just a man voted in to create order out of a huge mess), they lost ‘hope’ (again) and decided that ‘change’ wasn’t coming- at least not soon enough.

Donald Trump will probably help to create jobs after he figures out a way to file bankrupt for the country. :-) We know he’s good at that. And maybe we’ll be able to really appreciate him as president as long as we have a strong enough back-bone and stable mind to withstand the name calling and blasted cussing when he’s trying to get his point across or whenever someone does something he does not agree with. …Yeah.

Donald Trump for President… Donald Trump for President. Better yet, if we had to pick the lesser of two evils…would it be possible to over ride the eight rule maximum time to serve and just put GW back into office and let him finish the job of ripping the county apart? ...Just get it over with already. You got to laugh to keep from crying.

I don’t think being egotistical or a loud mouth is necessarily a bad thing. In fact, I think those attributes makes for a good strong experienced leader. You have to remember that Trump is part of this economy and also experiencing skyrocketing operating cost while other nations advance as we crumble. I believe he is sincere in trying to conserve the American dream.

Perhaps “Gallovich” was on to something and Trump might tone down his loud mouth a little as a civil servant but keep the strong experienced leader qualities for preserving capitalism.
I have nothing against Obama as a good man; I just think he wasn’t ready to run the most powerful nation on the planet.
Only my opinion…

OK, I think Christine will be coming on soon so we all better log off. She doesn’t like open discussion, LOL.

Mom,

I beg to differ. While you may view being egotistical and a loud mouth as not a bad thing, but could be strong attributes. I feel there are also some negatives that come with that. Being a loud mouth can also show that you just have lots of roar and no bite (he has demonstrated that), you could have a habit of speaking before thinking (he has demonstrated that. And by the way, I saw a report today that one of the advertisers, Groupon, has dropped him for his show the Apprentice.) And let’s not leave out annoying. People will hate to see you coming and cringe at your appearance- that is surely not a good attribute for a world leader. I have never heard of anyone being praised for having an oversized ego, either. Having an oversized ego is definitely not a good attribute- especially for a president. You must be able to see more than just yourself; because running the most powerful nations on the planet is not about you. And calling people names, because you don’t approve of their actions is never an attribute of a good leader. While Donald Trump may be successful with his own personal empire and all of those negatives have worked for him, because his empire is about him, those attributes should not be something we look for in a candidate running for the highest office in the nation. It is wishful thinking to think that he could tone down his attitude a.k.a big mouth; because that would require him to totally change who he is. And he’s Donald Trump, the egotistical name calling big mouth, he would not be the same without it. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Again, I feel he is taking advantage of this country’s vulnerability. Donald Trump, while he may be a successful business man- even after the bankruptcies- he still has too many red flags.
…JMO

Thank you for such a well thought out post.

Yeah, MOM, and Trump is experienced on running the strongest nation on the Planet? LOL! He has MONEY = Republicans mouths chomping at the bit! BE REAL! THIS MULTI BILLIONAIARE HAS THE CAPACITY IN HIS THROW OVER HAIR TO RUN THIS NATION????? LOL~ YOU ARE SO FAR FROM WHAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE NEED AND WANT....get off of your soapbox and winebox....the U.S. needs a leader and it is NOT Trump!

pdwa118: The funny and pitiful thing is these posters are TROLLS and you can tell by the spin cycle they are cleverly attempting to use to change the topic over to the 2012 Presidential elections as that's their AGENDA! Many of us have seen the signs and know how they perform and the pitiful thing is they could care less about the 99ers AND the unemployment in general because they don't post anything pertaining to the desperation of getting HR 589 on the floor of the Republican-majority 112th Congress! We know THIS PI thread speaks about UNEMPLOYMENT/BLACK YOUTH and yet none of them including the original (LOL) mom and jt has posted anything relevant to the thread which speaks volumes about them and their tagalongs CLONES/TROLLS. www.american99ersunion.com

How’s this for relevance…
I think HR 589 would have been helpful last year when 99ers first came into existence and they could have used it to maintain shelter & utilities etc while continuing their job searches. Now, over ONE YEAR LATTER without receiving benefits at all HR589 is nothing more than a free meal ticket. If your focus had equal passion for fighting for jobs as hard as you’re fighting for more free benefits I wouldn’t be so critical as well as the other 92.1% of working taxpayers. Until then, you’re just another liberal ideologue squeezing as many entitlements out of the government as you can.
You are an advocate for socialism and may or may not know it!

Now you're saying this thread is devoted to black youth? (You actually said that out loud)? How juvenile of you! LOL

"Yet for the Republican Party, the accumulation of money is proof in itself of
virtue, however it was acquired. The richest 1 percent pay for the party's
campaigns, and the party in turn serves their interests entirely. The most
glaring example is that they have simply exempted many of the rich from taxes.
Johnson studied four of Trump's recent tax returns, and found he legally paid no
taxes in two of them. In America today, a janitor can pay more income tax than
Donald Trump -- and the Republicans regard that not as a source of shame, but of
pride." READ MORE

5.5 million unemployed and without benefits, says the Wall Street Journal

http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2011/04/30/number-of-the-week-millions-se...

“Thank you for such a well thought out post.” LOL

This article just shows the more urgent need to fight for more American jobs harder than more unemployment benefits. Something long missing from the 99er advocacy groups strategy!

@msanonymous222: Thanks for the article, we ALL know its coming but they continue to play the Three Monkeys "See no evil Speak no evil Hear no evil". www.american99ersunion.com

www.american99ersunion (Take Action Now) and (HR 589) has EVERYTHING needed for FAXING-EMAILING our US REP in both houses for HR 589 out of the House/Ways/Means Committee and a viable JOBS BILL that the Republican majority 112th Congress has not taken the time to introduce. 111th Congress introduced 3-4 JOBS BILL and all were BLOCKED or watered down by Republicans! Congress is going to have to extend UI benefits as this JOBLESS economy continues with NO JOBS BILL presented and the unemployed 99ers and HR 4213 recipients must work together to make this happen as the JOBLESS rolls continue to rise! This was stated right after HR 4213 was signed into law and those not 99ers and not on HR 4213 are seeing the BIG picture and its not pretty. Others want to play politics with no regard for the blight of the unemployed and thats obvious. It is known nothing is happening because the 112th Congress doesn't want anything to happen because it politics & November 2012 fast-forward. There philosophy is " The unemployed HA! we'll use them when it get close to the Presidential election"

FYI: I have notice for 2 weeks that if you scroll up to the top of the page that I am logged in under different usernames other than Christine! Everyone check and make sure this PI is showing YOUR username and not somebody other than YOU. This is another example of PI being overun by TROLLS and CLONES and why PI has had to shut down, I have seen this on other websites as well so EVERYONE take caution and verify YOUR username is shown at the top of this thread at all times. And we have already seen the CLONES of mom & jt and downhill after that. We should ALL email PI on this because its getting ridiculous..

Duh….This has been occurring over the last 3 weeks and already brought to the attention of Michael Van. PI is pinging everyone’s IP address .

Obama expected to interrupt prime time TV for an important statement to the nation tonight. It just so happens to be in the middle of the Donald Trump’s apprentice board room result…… hummmmh. We all had to know that Osama Bin Laden is dead at 9:47 instead of 10:00 pm.

Celebrity Apprentice runs from 9-11 EST, 8-10 CST. bin Laden died a week ago. They got DNA results yesterday. It's not like Obama had to notify anyone of this news or anything. And the speech was when it was. Even whitehouse.gov showed that it was to "begin shortly" (during the earth-shattering Celeb Apprentice), but didn't begin until much later. You're right. Obama should have been locked in the Oval Office until the Donald fired someone.

Keep up that brilliant thinking, and those wonderfully cogent analyses. And get the fox off your head. You're not Trump, and you never will be.

This is not PI nightly news and PI has a news thread update as of 5/1 that comments can be posted so you have been reported. M.V. has already set the guidelines but some want to continue to push the envelop intertwining anything & everything to Nov.2012 and making it ugly + partisan. They don't care about the 99ers nor the unemployed in general so its up to each of us to email PI and report as warranted. BEWARE of the CLONES and TROLLS that have invaded PI. www.american99ersunion.com

Here, Mom. Read something other than Trump's "Think Like A Billionaire." They did forget to include the ones who have a Macy's job one day, get fired from it the next, have it after that. LOLOL

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/02/opinion/02mon1.html

When lauding the economy, Mr. Bernanke and many other economists and politicians point out, correctly, that the unemployment rate has declined from a recession high of 10.1 percent in late 2009 to 8.8 percent now. That would be encouraging news if it indicated robust hiring for good jobs. It does not.

Over the last year, the number of new hires has been outstripped by the masses who have either given up looking for work or who have not undertaken a consistent job search, say, after graduating from high school or college. Those missing millions are not counted in the official jobless rate; if they were, unemployment today would be 9.8 percent. The rate would be 15.7 percent if it included those who took part-time jobs in lieu of full-time ones.

{“When lauding the economy, Mr. Bernanke and many other economists and politicians point out, correctly, that the unemployment rate has declined from a recession high of 10.1 percent in late 2009 to 8.8 percent now. That would be encouraging news if it indicated robust hiring for good jobs. It does not.”}

No bells going off in your head yet? Shouldn’t the focus be on advocating for better jobs then? I’ve never seen such ignorance like yours having displayed fighting so hard for your short term survival while completely ignoring your long term survival. God only knows you had the time. If more advocates had been lobbying congress to punish companies who outsource “good jobs” & create stronger incentives for hiring 99ers instead of demanding only $4,000.00 for 14 weeks, there might not be the need for UIC expansions. But don’t feel too bad, at least you can spell & write very well… (I mean good)! Lol.

[No bells going off in your head yet?]

Nah, but I think I heard a little bird sticking its head out of a clock. Seemed to be coming from your place.

MMMMM What does that little bird say each time it exits out? "Cuckoo" Cuckoo". LOL LOL!

NO! It says it’s time to check PI to see if some ideologues still believe $4,000.00 will solve the problem. LOL, RLOL

We ALL know other breaking news is front & center! HR 589 is still in committee ALIVE, so keep EMAILING - FAXING - TWEETS to ALL the Reps in both houses for this bill to be attached as a Amendment to bills forthcoming asa the Republican majority 112th Congress stops their PAYBACK campaign. We have to ALL continue this fight or ALL the unemployed including those exhausting + those on HR 4213 and of course the 99ers get UI extensions ASAP! Its a tune we must keep playing because as we ALL know from last year with 4 unemployment extension Bills and even prior to that there was HR 3548! Washington moves when the fire is burning. The CLONES on here and the TROLLS must be reported to Aricka Flowers OR Lou Carlozo, Michael is no longer with the PI website! Also check at the top of this thread to make sure YOU are logged in under YOUR username and not some other person attempting to invade, which mean there are TROLLS here viewing our IP addresses. BEWARE and REPORT!

aricka@progressillinois.com It is quite obvious "mom" is the usual CLONE sidekick and I thank him for the post using the "ping" word which is familiar among those that invade other websites viewing who is logged in and their names! I copied/paste that post from that TROLL and emailed it to Aricka and to Lou. Suggestion is for EVERYONE to do the same for this invasion to stop or it will worsen with the likes of the CLONE for mom who is not mom. This is a prelude to the November 2012 elections and THEY want to sweep anything pertaining to the unemployed under the carpet out of sight! OFF-TOPIC report it! EMAIL Aricka or Lou @ progressillinois.com PI website use to be a decent website until these characters lashed on & its downhill.

This is the post 9:54pm "Duh….This has been occurring over the last 3 weeks and already brought to the attention of Michael Van. PI is pinging everyone’s IP address" That is the comments posted so EVERYONE copy/paste and email to Arika and/or Lou to stop what is taking place on this PI thread with the CLONES and TROLLS! The quicker HE/THEY can leave and go back to OC and the other websites the better! There are alot of trouble people on the Internet and bloggerspere so be careful!

Having the following opinions does not make one a troll or clone.
I have been complaining for over a year now that I thought the 99er advocates have the wrong strategy. I get that the 99ers need help. Nonetheless, I believe that $4,000.00 will not make the problem go away.
I simply cannot wrap my brain around the fact that for over one year now with no results, 99er advocates still chase unemployment expansions WITHOUT the same diligence for lobbying congress to penalize job outsourcing and stiffer incentives for hiring the long-term unemployed, etc.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR Christine: Accusing me of hacking PI user names is reckless and dangerous. You’ve been warned!

Statement from the American 99ers Union

"Osama Bin Laden's death is a victory in the war against terror. Now it is time to strike a victory in the war against unemployment. The American 99ers Union extends our sincere thanks to those serving in our military."

We must see that H.R.589 is passed into law without delay. To this end the American 99ers Union shall launch it's next campaign in the coming days. More information to follow...

Consider the following new data:

*The four week average for NEW unemployment insurance applications has jumped to 408,500.

*More than half of all Americans surveyed told a Gallup poll that the U.S. economy is in a recession or a depression.

*U.S. Gross Domestic Product slowed sharply in the first quarter of this year to a dismal 1.8 percent annual rate.

*RealtyTrac has now forecast that 1.2 million more homes will be lost to foreclosure in 2011.

*McDonald's April 19th "hiring day", brought with it "more than one million applications". From this number only 62,000 were hired.

Conclusion:

Historically speaking, we should be much further along on the road to "recovery". With the House of Representatives preparing to return to work, it is clear that we as a Country, are not yet in a position to get America's longest-term unemployed back to work, thereby bringing stability to the American worker as well the economy. It is the responsibility of all members and supporters of the American 99ers Union, to respectfully request the immediate passage of H.R.589 without further delay..

Sorry honey, you’ll still have to take your shoes off at the airports. The war on terrorism continues. The only victory we enjoyed Yesterday is the United States captured & killed the most wanted man on the face of the earth.

Mom..I hate to say this. Not looking to look or be harsh. I do find using the War on Terror and the success of our military to try to move your point on unemployment distasteful at best. Why do some of these people always try to tie their wagon to others? They first hit the poor street person...then the poor child in a motel..Even use those poor sad people that take their own lives...now lets get a push off using the military? The War on Terror is fare from over. I hope some can stop using other problems and other peoples pain just to sell their point of view. I am starting to wonder if they are really out to help the poor? Or, maybe just use them and anyone they can for their own goals?

Hideinseek,

I agree with you 1000%. I realized that the fight for Tier five really ended long ago while a new fight silently emerged to advance the socialist agenda. Most 99ers left this site and moved on with their lives and figured out that another $4,000.00 will not really change things. Sure, they’ll take it if congress gives it, but there not faxing, calling congress for only $4K! This is the number one reason why you don’t see or hear from the millions of the “real” 99ers. There are only one or two liberal advocates on this site spewing their hatred & chastising anyone who interrupts the flow of their messages.

Are these two Dixie chicks really fighting this hard for only $4000.00 (for someone else) or are they asking for help to advance a nanny state?

Also, I’m grateful for the thousands & thousands of military personal that worked & sacrificed so hard over the past decade to capture & kill the face of terrorism. I’m also grateful to Bush Senior, Bush Junior and Obama for all of their difficult efforts.

Mom..Very will said.

Hideinseek, thank you.
I’m positive any rational thinking person would find something very peculiar about fighting for only $4,000.00 for almost a year and a half while completing ignoring or campaigning for jobs and job creating policies.

Furthermore, what is EXTEAMLY peculiar to me is; this unsuccessful strategy continues! Let’s say HR589 becomes law, that’s only 14 weeks ($4000.00). I personally think that’s a very little return for all the time & research spent on blogs and in forums lobbying congress for 14 weeks of small increments of government subsistence. And HEY, Guess what? That’s only for 14 weeks!!! This endless cycle of fighting for more tiers will never end. The unemployed population need jobs and need jobs NOW! They needed a Tier 5 last year.

Now, what 99ers really need are professional advocates compiling a list of all the policies needed to jumpstart this economy and lobby congress with these ideas and not cries for more Billions to be spent on unemployment extensions. Until now, all we ever see are armature bloggers & homegrown forum posters hating on republicans. Most other unemployed forums blame the corporate mafia for the recession and suddenly starting despising rich people simply because their personal situation changed. Regardless of one’s political position, this strategy is lame.

Yes. Most people seem to have to have someone or something to blame, When Christine calls for a War on Unemployment...! To have a War on anything you must have a enemy!! So who is the Emmey on Unemployment? Do we really believe that the President, the Republicans, the Democrats, the Rich or any group of Americans would not all welcome full employment and a total recovery? Why try to turn it into class war fare? The reality may be that the Government can only do so much! That is not to say they could not do more to help with job creation; yet, they do not create Jobs nor can they. If it were as simple as passing one Job Bill and like magic we get full employment would they not do that? The reality is we may not see unemployment under 6 or 7% for some time. Some of the good jobs lost may never come back. This problem is not only felt in America.

So the President has never been to Ground Zero since he has been in office. Yet; now he runs down there to Grand Stand? Not sure the Grand Standing is in good taste. Sounds Political to me.

Once we all get back to realizing the economy is going nowhere and possibly about to get worse, Obama’s polls will drop again & again & again. IMO, the state of the economy is the only thing that can make or break a presidential candidate come 2012. Now if he could only sit down with OPEC like he did with the CIA, America might have a chance to keep operating while helping to stimulate the economy.

President Obama’s polls were jacked up slightly & very temporarily with the “announcement” of Bin Laden’s capture. Don’t be surprised if you see a banner at ground zero reading, “Obama got Osama”. (Thanks Obama, Seal team 6, Bush Sr, Bush Jr and, the thousands of military volunteer personal including their families for all the sacrifices made over the last decade). I didn’t forget about President Clinton I just believe he did very little or nothing after the first World Trade bombing in 1993.

Why Clinton did nothing about the world trade center bombing in 1993…
Best Answer -
He was more concerned with his "image" than fighting terrorism.

After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured 1,000; President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and injured 200 U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and injured 5,000; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39 U.S. sailors; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

Maybe if Clinton had kept his promise, accepting Bin Laden when offered by the Sudan in 1996 for example, an estimated 6,000 people in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. that are now injured or dead would be alive today.

SEASONALLY ADJUSTED DATA

In the week ending April 30, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 474,000, an increase of 43,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 431,000. The 4-week moving average was 431,250, an increase of 22,250 from the previous week’s revised average of 409,000.

UNADJUSTED DATA

The advance number of actual initial claims under state programs, unadjusted, totaled 412,873 in the week ending April 30, an increase of 25,006 from the previous week. There were 399,350 initial claims in the comparable week in 2010

I AGREE!!! All of those facts and figures are very true!

When conservative Americans read those reports they say; “wow, maybe we should fight & campaign for more job creating policies”?

When liberal Americans read those reports they say; “wow, maybe we should fight & campaign for more unemployment benefits for ever & ever”?

Keep CALLING the Chairman of the HWMs Committee at toll-free # 1 866 338-1015 (Congress Switchboard) and they will transfer you to his office, my understanding is that the staffers are LOGGING in ALL calls regarding HR 589. This Bill must be introduced ASAP! and the Republicans are the majority in Congress so YEA or NAY it has to be introduced for a vote OR added as a Amendment to any bill forthcoming. We seen it done multiple times i.e. Bush Tax Cuts legislation ($3.7 TRILLION) and the Republicans/Teabbaggers would not even consider HR 4213 unless THAT bill was taken up and passed. Those who hypocritically regurgitate about the "Deficit" have nothing to say intelligently about how we got where we are thanks to President Bush and the majority Republicans in BOTH houses that spent BILLIONS every month with Washington turning a blind eye so here stands America in one hell of a mess and they ALL cry about fixing the deficit. Republican majority 112th Congress have gotten TONS of their earmarks passed that will be BLOCKED in the Senate including the trying to redifine Rape! AND still no JOBS BILL either. Legislation against AARP, MEDICARE, PLANNED PARENTHOOD and still no JOBS BILL. www.american99ersunion.com

I understand it takes time to create a Bill to improve the jobless
market, but now into the 5th month congress has been in session.

EVERYONE PLEASE contact your Congressman and TELL them to PASS HR 589 and put together a VIABLE & COMPREHENSIVE JOBS BILL with incentives to employers to HIRE!

Its time to start thinking about what advocates need to do to lobby congress for better job creating policies.

Bill Would Allow States to Use Unemployment Funds for Other Purposes

Saw this on another site.. House Republicans unveiled a bill on Thursday that would give state governments greater leeway in how they spend federal funds earmarked for benefits for long-term unemployed people.

“This is the opposite of a jobs bill — it is a hatchet job on the unemployment insurance program,” Rep. Sander Levin (D. Mich.

http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2011/05/05/bill-would-allow-states-to-use...

Dear Christine,

That’s a kind of a (half ased) request for asking people who by the way; I never see communicating or replying to your pleas.
Maybe if you take the time to put together a “comprehensive” template letter outlining all the detailed and vital policies desperately needed for job creation just like you do when asking for only $4,000.00, congress might take the long-term unemployed more seriously. I mean C’mon, no one can argue with that! Congress hasn’t recognized the cries for help in almost a year and a half now.

In light of all the info you posted just tonight alone, do you still believe things will improve in just 14 weeks? To be honest, I would have just a little more respect for you if you were advocating for a longer comprehensive unemployment benefits program instead of only 14 weeks until the UE rate is somewhat normal again, but you’re not even doing that! You’re fighting tooth & nail for only $4000.00 that will not help to find jobs for the 99ers jobs since you claim there are no jobs. Your logic is one giant round wheel and your strategy is one giant square wheel. (Tell that to the President of the 99ers union)!

Check out the graph about those WITH & WITHOUT UI benefits. General Discussion > Millions set to lose unemployment benefits!

Psst...PI...you customarily shut down an unemployment thread before posting something new about unemployment. This one's been scintillating, especially those comments from the Republilliterate (aka Mr. "getting old and boring"), but we need to move on to the new one, where Mom proclaims victory (LOL) from 62,000 added dink wage jobs to the already dinky wage other jobs so that the month is deemed a success...and she totally ignores that 9.0% unemployment rate, and the fact that we need about 300,000 jobs to really move us out of recession/depressionville. Then the Republilliterate (or is that Republidjit) will chime in his usual two "I agree with you, Mom" cents.

Or you could just copy/paste posts from this one. Same thing.

@msanonymous222: Very well said! The person has no life so she/he continues to post for attention including the CLONE who has shifted verbiage to Jobs and a Jobs bill just as HE has started doing on other websites, not knowing WE have been pushing for a comprehensive JOBS BILL prior to and since this Republican Tea Party became the majority in the 112th Congress AND hasn't introduced one JOBS BILL at all. 111th Congress introduced and passed 3 JOBS BILL all BLOCKED or WATERED DOWN by the Republicans. The CLONES and TROLLS on PI are like worned out shoes with a hole at the bottom stepping on horse manure to freshen their feet! (NO purpose served) LOL LOL! www.american99ersunion.com

@msanonymous222: She can count each grain of sand on Huntington beach,CA. She/he also was the CLUELESS one that said the economy was improving. I see now why she had to get help because the Ambien RX was working and she wasn't knowledgeable in current events especially the unemployed as you so clearly proved last year to present but its a life to rid the boredom I guess. Who knows with people like that!

MsanonyoMouth,

GOOD NEWS FOR ILLINOIS.

Gov Quinn gives corporate tax breaks to Motorola to stay in Illinois. Motorola will hire 2500 new employees.
I doubt that these are $9.00/hr jobs. Good luck. I know I couldn’t make it on only $9.00/hr, that why I have 3 – (three) jobs and still have time to disagree with round logic & square wheels on PI..

I’m not saying anyone should settle for entry level or minimum wage jobs and love it. I’m saying you guys look like fools fighting so hard for only $4000.00 while never cleverly constructing an organized campaign to present congress with a real solution to get the economy back on its feet.

When EUC was first passed in 2008 they claimed it would help stimulate the economy (IT DINDNT)! When Tiers 3&4 were passed in 2009-2010 they claimed it would stimulate the economy, (IT DIDN’T)!

Mom - how do you know that it didn't..?

You see fat/weak people working out in gyms...

You don't know what they WOULD look like if they didn't go.

Mom - I stayed in a shelter in March.

People who live like this quite arguably cost more to society than if they would be collecting unemployment benefits.
They receive healthcare, food, clothing, place to sleep.
In the meantime they go insane, if they didn't drink before, now they do - and the downward spiral continues.
Who do you think pays for this?
Short term/long term...

Unemployment benefits would simply cost less.
It should be available for those who are employable.

Of course there are the unemployable, the shelters/welfare should be available and necessary for those.
To deem people 'unemployable' because they cannot find jobs in a severely troubled economy is plain nonsense.

Gallovich

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I wish you the best.

I could not agree with you more. Whether there are enough jobs to go around or not, I believe per your comment, ”To deem people 'unemployable' because they cannot find jobs in a severely troubled economy is plain nonsense.” is the big elephant in the room that needs to be addressed. While all unemployed are or have been victims of the recession, the long termed unemployed are the ones who struggle the hardest getting back on their feet. That issue is known, but not being addressed.

There was more bad news than met the eye to Friday’s jobs report, even beyond the bump up in the unemployment rate.

While the top-line number of 244,000 jobs created sounded great when it came off the tape, the internals were somewhat weaker. In particular, the household survey, which is an actual head count, suggested that the job creation barely kept up with the expansion of the labor force.

Under some circumstances, the rise in the jobless rate might have suggested good news—namely that many of the millions of discouraged workers were coming off the sidelines and looking for jobs, thus being added to the count according to the Labor Department’s byzantine method of composing the labor picture.

But nothing in the data suggests that.

The labor participation rate for April, in fact, stood unchanged at 64.2 percent.

Ditto for the actual amount of people out of work, which also was unchanged at 13.7 million.

Another measure of unemployment rose as well: the so-called “real” unemployment rate, which rose to 15.9 percent, up two-tenths from the prior month.
http://www.cnbc.com/42929791

Gallovich,
I’m really so sorry to hear you had to stay in a shelter. I really hope things picks up for you and many others soon.

You had asked, “How do I know extensions aren’t working”? Here’s why I think they’re not working. If you had to stay in a shelter facility just this past March and millions are still unemployed and also struggling since the recession began in 2007, that clearly shows that EUC 2008, the 2009/2010 tiers 3 & 4 ARE NOT having the desired effect.(They are helping people survive; but they ARE NOT having the desired effect)! Yes, Tier 5 will help people survive but, will not have the desired effect until as “YMB” mentioned; someone addresses the elephant in the room, (real jobs).

Again, I am not opposed to helping people survive. I’m just opposed to those narrow minds that ONLY FIGHT for $4000.00 thinking that will make the recession go away.

Christine..Your Hero Michael Moore said America Murdered Bin Laden and had no right to go into that country and get him. So much for that fat Liberal anti-American FOOL!

The REAL war on terrorism is right here, not in Afghanistan or Pakistan or Iraq but the United States of America. We give BILLIONS of dollars to these countries and we can't support our own citizens that are being thrown to the street with the bathwater. Perhaps Ali Belshi of CNN can tell these Congressional heratless pricks that there are well over 17 million unemployed in this country and a lot have children to feed.

GOP’s Kinder, Gentler Medicaid Gutting. “After first placing Paul Ryan’s drastic Medicaid-slashing proposal on the negotiating table, Republicans are lining up behind a yet another plan to curb the program’s benefits and payments—a smaller-scale change that’s likelier to pass Congress. Republicans in both houses introduced bills on Tuesday that would eliminate federal regulations that prevent states from trimming their Medicaid rolls or erecting new barriers to enrollment” http://motherjones.com/politics/2011/05/medicaid-cuts-repeal-republicans

Christine...You have your wish. The site is all you and no one is answering your post? The above remarks on the War on Terrorism were so disrespectful that it makes me ill. As a Veteran that Loves his Country and has nothing but love and respect for our Military and our young men and woman that fight and die everyday in Afghanistan, your total lack of respect for America is unwelcome. You damn America out of one side of your lips and ask Her for more benefit checks out of the other side. Your total HATE for our country is clear. Your total DISRESPECT for our Military is uncalled for. Send your post to your hero Michael Moore. Only he could agree with your Anti-American remarks. God Bless American and Our Military.

Very well said hideinseek.

I also agree that her analogy for the war on terrorism was a desperate cry for help while minimizing the efforts of all the volunteer military men & woman including their families.
When she is the only one posting day & night with no support or responses I kind of feel sorry for her. It has to be an embarrassment for Christine that she is now; “a party of one” and you only see her name when scrolling the page through comments.

The chairman of the house ways & means committee is NOT going to send HR 589 to the floor for debate, In fact, congress is discussing ways to reduce or discontinue certain benefits entirely. Yes the economy is still struggling but it is not as gloom & doom as the unemployment extension advocates broadcast. As most of us I don’t believe in government data reports or polls. All I believe in is what I SEE! I went to the Home Depot today and had to wait in line for the first time in a long time, the store was crowded. I sat in traffic jams coming & going. Everyone was out shopping & spending money.

Perhaps three months from now we’ll go into another recession dip once everyone becomes broke from high gas prices. For now everyone is doing their part to help the economy crawl along except the unemployment advocates demanding $4000.00 for over a year now.

I am pretty sure Christine has the respect and support of the vast majority here no matter what her view of Moore is..MOM so it's the fact people who need help and demand help that irks you so much? Or is it that it's a cry for help that you obviously don't need in your life. You are a disgusting person under the guise of your benevolence here. I think if the majority here took a vote to have you disappear once and for all it would be a landslide. But you won't leave will you. Now we should ask what kind of person just will not go away from somewhere they are most certainly wanted or welcome!!

Have to disagree with you. People are getting help. Our Government is paying Unemployment for two years now. There are retraining programs being paid for...Christine was in one along with two years of benefits. We have many programs to help the poor. No one in my city has to go without food. Thanks to so many food banks and Lowe's and Fishes feeding those in need. That is not to say there are not those that need help. Yet, America is giving help where she can. So No,terrorism in not our Government or the American people. Our young boys and girls of our great military are fighting it over there for us. While they die on those streets and while so many people in the middle east die on their own streets from their own Government, take time to thank God you live in this Great Country. Where you can ask for even more Government help while on your PC watching your cable tv! Christine shows a total lack of respect for this Country and in that post for our young Military. Has anyone taken the time to say Thank You America and our Government for two years of benefits? Who said "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country?" Is personal responsibility a bad word? How long do others owe you? Your dislike for mom comes from you wish for Socialism and her belief in Conservatism. I agree with her view. Most Americans do...maybe just not as many on a left wing web site.

Kelly71159
Do not twist my words or thoughts whoever you are. My objections have long been the absence of any kind of serious fight for jobs & job creating policies. I have no objection in helping the unemployed but we are being told this country is broke and in the middle of a budget cutting frenzy.

“What kind of person am I”? I’m a person who blames those with multiple college degrees and big egos not taking part-time or low paying jobs to help the economy get out of the ditch while fighting and advocating for more unemployment extensions. That’s why if there are 13 million unemployed, you can only find roughly 1500 – 3000 who actually support more unemployment benefits. Check for yourself.

Most realize that $4,000.00 will not change or improve their lives. If we were not being told this country is broke and needed no budget cuts, I would be an idiot to object to more unemployment during a recession. This is not the case.

I think its narrow minded and short sighted not to advocate or demand congress to do more about the economy while fighting & WAITING so hard for only $4,000.00 for almost one and a half years now.

Other Dixie chicks here actually had the nerve to say out loud that they will not fight for jobs until congress gives the 99ers $4000.00. You know exactly who I’m talking about, RIGHT?
Although I’m convinced unemployment extensions will do nothing for the economy, I’m not pleased congress is ignoring HR 589. I’m more disenfranchised by the 99er advocates ignoring the fight for jobs & job creating policies. That’s who I am.

Personally I don't think even "mom" knows who she/he is half the time. www.american99ersunion.com HR 589 still in the HWMs committee so Keep FAXING-EMAILING your US Reps in BOTH houses. The 2 lonely hearts rejects, will continue their???? Sorry but I don't know what they call it but it is ENTERTAINMENT! LOL LOL!!

112th Republican-majority Congress! WHERE is a JOBS BILL and WHY hasn't one been introduced!! www.american99ersunion.com

Why are you not all over congress about a serious jobs bill like you are for more benefits? All you’re really doing is sitting around waiting for congress to do something! In the meantime you want to get paid for it.

Repeat: Hideinseek aka JT aka jt, reminds me of a Ostrich who sticks his head in the sand to hide BUT is too stupid to realize his ass is sticking out. He sits back and collects his monthly entitlement checks from social security and ALL is right with the world in his fog-rimmed glasses. People like him as stated before, played a different tune last year when HE was on UI extensions because he was up there crying & pleading to the Republicans along with the millions of other unemployed NOT to block the extensions! So the horse manure excremented from his mouth, means absolutely nothing because I remember how he was when HE was on UI extension of benefits last year and sung a different (whoa is me) song.

You said of mom and others. "They post on here because they have no life". Is that not YOU!!! On here day and night talking to yourself. Remember Christine..if you Hate America so much our exit border is open you can move. Don't let the door hit you in the azzzz on your way out. What do you do with your free time...burn the American Flag? You are not a 99er...you my dear are unemployable. Sure you have not paid enough to even get Social Security. Oh will you can hope for SSI. You are Clueless when it comes to the economy. There will be no new tier...and by the way no new ext period. Go get a job dead beat.

Don’t be too impressed with your memory because he took work to survive during the recession just before his unemployment benefits expired.

I know, you don't remember that because it’s more convenient for your agenda.

Hey maybe the 2 lonely hearts rejects can go after those MILLIONAIRES that collected UI benefits OR maybe they can travel over to IRAQ to find that STILL missing $10 BILLION dollars that disappeared OR maybe the $3.7 TRILLION BUSH TAX CUTS that the Republicans wanted and held HR 4213 hostage until they got it OR maybe the BILLIONS & TRILLIONS of dollars spent in the wars in IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN OR the BILLIONS of dollars given to Pakistan every year! No they whether berate and belittle the very AMERICAN people who loss their jobs through no fault of their own and have been surviving on a wing and a prayer. HR 589 14 weeks is better than NO weeks just as the forgetful jt should recall when they were fighting for extension of UI benefits last week for even ONE month! because ONE month was better than no months BUT those 2 ostriches are just a couple of lonely people who have no life but the PI thread PERIOD! Now they are using the same words I have used, because they are running out of intelligent things to say. Its pitiful!! www.american99ersunion.com

THURS CBC to Meet Obama at the White House
"Again, the 5 major initiatives the CBC will again push for with the President are:
1. A push for budget strategies to end systemic long-term “pockets” of poverty (also known as “10-20-30″).
2. A push for a redistricting task force and focus on Section 5 of the Voting right Act.
3. A push to designate unemployment extensions as an emergency so it may be funded without a “payfor” (H.R. 589).
4. Funding for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), other programs assisting the poor.
5. A push to fund NIH programs that focus on health care disparities and the office of minority health."

http://www.crewof42.com/?p=5626.

I've been reading about this so-called 'meeting' for at least a couple months now. No, I'm not talking about the bill itself, I'm talking about this big meeting. It's been allegedly going to take place for the last couple months or so. Big meeting coming up, huh? lol

(-:

I guess Obama feels we are no longer in a recession. He just signed a bill forcing Chicago to clean up portions of the Chicago River. Guess who’s paying for that, homeowners & business owners by raising water & sewer rates.

[Don’t be too impressed with your memory because he took work to survive during the recession just before his unemployment benefits expired.

I know, you don't remember that because it’s more convenient for your agenda.]

Sooooo, speaking of jobs, how's that job at that big department store--the job you were fired from one day, and suddenly didn't remember you were fired from the next, so you went to work like you had a job? Oh wait, you did have a job, huh? Funny how you never mention that fairy tale. LOL Boy, I bet L.P. would love that doozy...it's a real knee slapper...speaking of convenient for your agenda and all. :-)

msanonymouth222, quick hit this!

I knew that comment I made about some Dixie chick saying out loud that she would not fight for jobs until congress hands out more unemployment extensions would flush you out since you were the one that made it.

I despise people just like you ignoring the real need to advocate for job creating policies instead of fighting for only $4,000.00. If you want to call that an agenda, knock your socks off.

No need to worry about my career, I still have the same three jobs. I just stopped updating this forum especially after you ripped “Kelly u know who” a you know what, for things going on in her personal life which you absolutely had no right to perpetuate.

That was ten worse than me posting your name on this site which you already told people here to go read at another site. This forum will remember you for two things only. Well versed in all government doles and abusing Kelly u know who. You poor mis-guided fraud.

I need another hint as to who L.P is.

@msanonymous222: Reading her comments I think she ran out of her Ambien RX medicine again, totally incoherent. She talking about a bill to clean the Chicago River while America spends BILLIONS & BILLIONS of dollars on 2 WARS + the $3.7 TRILLION BUSH TAX CUTS the Republican Tea Party wanted and got, which is just a drop in the bucket. Oh yeah she suffering also from that "Selective Memory" syndrome because Kelly was a total monster on this thread with all three of them bashing just about every guest that posted and SHE (mom) never could compete intellectually with you msanon222 and everyone knew it, so she does what any child would do who's self-esteem is deflated, she lashed out & posted your real name and got vilified for it BUT wasn't banned permanently so her survival blanket is still this PI thread. PITIFUL isn't it! P.S. Lets not forget their CLONES who are still trying to figure out what I do but can't, I just LOL when they post YOU'RE EMPLOYED! YOU'RE IN A STATE TRAINING PROGRAM! YOU! YOU! Not biting from those apples!! LOL LOL! Stay true to yourself and keep up the fight for HR 589. www.american99ersunion.com

BARBARA LEE: SPEAKER BOEHNER AND LEADER CANTOR SHOULD PREVENT “CRUEL” BILL TO GUT UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS FROM REACHING THE HOUSE FLOOR

“Chairman Camp’s bill to gut unemployment benefits for millions of jobless workers is just the latest Republican salvo in their war on our nation’s unemployed. It is cruel for Ways and Means Committee Republicans to further penalize unemployed workers across the country as we face an economy where there are more than 4 unemployed workers for every available job. Instead of moving on the bill that Rep. Scott and I introduced to extend aid for unemployed workers who have exhausted their benefits, Republicans want to go backwards and cut existing unemployment benefits.

“I sincerely hope that Speaker Boehner and Leader Cantor will join me in rejecting this bill and do everything in their power to see that this assault on unemployed workers never reaches the House floor.”

The American 99ers Union Says “No” to HR 1745
On Thursday, May 05, 2011 House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp, along with Human Resources Subcommittee Chairman Geoff Davis and Human Resources Subcommittee member Rick Berg, introduced the Jobs, Opportunity, Benefits and Services (JOBS) Act of 2011 (HR 1745). On Wednesday, May 10, 2011 in a party-line vote, a congressional panel approved this Republican bill.

It took ONLY five days to approve this Republican drafted bill, while the Emergency Unemployment Compensation Expansion Act of 2011 (HR 589) drafted by Democratic Representatives Barbara Lee and Bobby Scott, introduced on Wednesday, February 09, 2011 STILL languishes in the House Ways and Means Committee.

THE DETAILS OF HR 1745:

Fact: States would have the flexibility in how they can spend their share of $31 billion in remaining temporary Federal unemployment funds

Translation: As a result of the recession of 2007 and the anemic pace of the recovery, *State unemployment trust funds are insolvent in 30 states, forcing the agencies to borrow from the federal government or capital markets to pay the first 26 weeks of unemployment insurance and as of March, 33 states owe the federal government $46 billion dollars.

States could use the remaining temporary Federal unemployment funds to pay back interest or principle on Federal unemployment loans, or use it for regular or extended unemployment benefits. If a portion of your “business” was bankrupt, what fear driven response would you take? This will provide a short term solution to a state level problem, rather than address a long term problem affecting us on a national level… Unemployment.

Fact: The bill includes reforms that (1) strengthen job search requirements, (2) require those most likely to exhaust unemployment benefits without finding a job (such as people without a high school degree) to engage in education or training they need to improve their chances of finding work, and (3) allow States to test innovative strategies to help the unemployed find work.

Translation: While Sates are conducting, **“impact evaluation…using a control or comparison group or other valid methodology, of the demonstration (of potential job producing) project(s)”, what becomes of those lab rats (the long term unemployed) who have been without income and have exhausted their savings? They continue to remain unable to contribute to the economy through the purchase of goods and services, in a Country whose economic system is based upon the laws of supply and demand.

Fact: Not One Dime Added to the Deficit

Translation: While not a dime is added to the deficit, what is the financial benefit to the economy when: Consumer spending accounts for 70% of all economic activity, every dollar invested in unemployment insurance brings about a return of between $1.60 to $2.31 to the economy, and in October 2010 the Non-partisan Congressional Budget Office found for the second time, that ***extending unemployment insurance was one of the most cost effective ways to stimulate the economy and create jobs.

CONCLUSION:

This bill does not address the immediate or long-term needs of America’s unemployed. In turn, this bill does not address the immediate or long-term needs of the American economy. This bill does not have the support of any of the American 99ers Union’s membership nor its supporters. This bill cannot reach The House Floor.

Maybe you're right, only homeowners, property owners and renters will feel this rate increase in sewer & water fees. Those on section 8 or living with mommy & daddy will not be affected. So I understand your “drop in the bucket” attitude for those with adult responsibilites.

(-:

Good point! The congressional black caucus & American 99ers union have about as much pull to schedule a meeting as a one legged husky in an Iditarod race. Remember the last meeting which took place in the hallway and advocates posted, (breaking news HR589 update) lol. I’m not making fun of the 99ers who need help NO; I’m making fun of unemployment advocates who ignore the fight for what’s needed to create jobs while chasing a fictitious $4,000.00 for almost 1&half years.

"creating jobs" - is an illusion.

This is capitalism.
Capitalism is neither 'good' or 'bad' - it's a tool.
Like a hammer.
The reason why there are not enough jobs is, that according to the natural laws of the economical system either nothing needs to be done or no one is willing to pay for what needs to be done.
In the meantime social justice requires to provide for those with no means of sustaining themselves.

Yes, it is possible for a country to exist with a cruel and unjust distribution system.

"When I reflect on the fact that God is just, I tremble for my country."

I believe Thomas Jefferson said this.
(I know it's from "One of Those Guys...")

So your idea is Socialism? Do you understand that 45% of Americans pay no federal income tax at all? That some even get a tax refund after paying nothing? We have a lot of social programs to help the poor. Welfare..food stamps..Hud Housing for low income. In every major city no one has to go without food. There is a lot of food banks..Churchs that feed the poor...Fish and Lowe's. Our Country has become the most powerful and the best based on Capitalism for years. Do you think America is the only country with poor people? So you feel it is fair to just take from others and give it out to others? Why is success and earning a good income so bad? How much of what one earns is OK to keep? Is personal responsibility a bad word? Have you lived or even been to other countries? If you have you would thank God you live in the USA. We seem to be the only country that people die to cross into. Remember those that hate or fear our country can always cross out of also, the exit border is open.

Republican majority 112th Congress! WHERE IS A JOBS BILL???? www.american99ersunion.com

Hey.... dont forget to make fun of the weeper of the house today. He was at it again. LOL.

GENERIC ADVOCACY LETTER FOR HR 589 and a JOBS BILL.

The American government must create incentives for the employers to hire, as our government has given the financial sectors stimulus funds to assist borrowers. However, the employers and the financial sectors have not been proactive with the government's calls to action. Simply put, they are not helping improve the current economic crisis. Today's high percentage of unemployment, foreclosures, homelessness, repossessions, bankruptcy filings and overall personal debt reflect this point to be a fact, not an opinion.

It is simple: Unemployment benefits are a lifeline for the unemployed. These benefits will stimulate the economy, as the unemployed are all consumers. It will prevent homelessness, starvation and overall suffering for millions of your fellow Americans.

Therefore, by adding weeks to the Emergency Unemployment Compensation program, and by creating JOBS so Americans can rebuild their lives, it will benefit ALL of America and the people of our great nation.

Re-establish our trust in the government systems and assist us in rebuilding our lives; re-instill our faith in the goodness of humanity, in our legislators and the overall system of the government within our great nation; assist us in being proud Americans again and help us to restore our dignity and pride of our country
.
Support HR 589 and pass and/or create the bills necessary to promote JOB creation in America. Our lives, the lives of our family members and the overall economic health of America is dependent on this to survive and overcome the current economic crisis our country is now facing.

Thank you,

Name,

Do you read what you post? "The 99er issue is one that we know is not going to be funded because it will require new legislation that would never get out of the House."...

"Hud Housing for low income. In every major city no one has to go without food. There is a lot of food banks..Churches that feed the poor" OMG did jt really mean that??? No one has to go without food???? There is a lot of food banks??? Churches that feed the poor???? CLUELESS = A Ostrich sticking his head in the sand to hide, too stupid to realize his ass is sticking out!

Fact...In my city..5 Fish and Lowes...they have lunch and dinner 7 days a week in all but one of them. They also have food on wheels programs for the sick. 12 Church's just within the city have days where they feed the ones in need. There are 5 major food banks within the city...Salv. Army runs a big one and also feeds the poor 3 nights a week. They also will hand out sleeping bags and clothes and free showers. There are 7 Free heath care programs open within the city to those in need. Anyone with no income can go into any welfare office and will get 200.00 a month in food stamps the same day. Must have a ID and address. If you have no address you can get a free no ?'s ask mail box. Yes Old Clueless One that is a fact.

Actually, ostriches do not bury their heads in the sand, that’s a myth just like HR589.

I don't know if HR589 itself is a myth, so much as this big meeting I've been hearing about for the last couple months or so. By the way, has that meeting ever taken place?

There's still countless 99ers that actually haven't become 99ers yet, but are about to (or very recently just have). Although I have a lousy warehouse job, I fully support more UC for the current crop of the unfortunate. I mean if...as a civilization...we can't even have a heart for those who have nothing, and are about to lose even that, then we...as a civilization...have failed.

<(-:

Like my goatee?

I think the guy in Connecticut who worked hard on the homelessness in his state, can hopefully CLUE-IN the CLUELESS one!

I do work 2 days a week for Fish and Lowe's. Maybe you should try that if you really would like to help those in need. Rather than just Damn the Government and the USA all day long. Seems you have the time.

I also have news for you old clueless Homelessness did not start with the 99ers! Where were you then? You talk as if you are helping the poor...when in reality you use them to tie your wagon for your own needs and goal to spend your know nothing attitude.

Have you read and re-read your stupid post? PeteRepeat or Rerun should be your name - you are like an album skipping on the same thread! 45% of people do not pay income tax because they are illegals or from other countries, i.e. India. So ALL Americans unemployed who ran out of UE benefits should just live in a car (if they have one), TRY to find room at a shelter, pitch a tent at a tent community, but be glad they have a free P.O. Box for $200/month in food stamps? Please go to the exit border asap because your sense makes no sense at all. Loaves and Fishes, Fishes and Loaves, Food Banks, Soup Kitchens, etc etc - who gives a @#$@#! about all this free food you mention when one has nowhere to live or eat it at? Are you serious? Or sipping off that winebox looking at your government check being happy you are not one of the ones on the streets hoping for a meal at a soup kitchen? You disgust me in how you feel about the AMERICANS that worked hard for this country, not the aliens and illegals that suck the very life and benefits out of this country each and every day. Take the needle out of your arm and look around at who are on all the freebie benefits this country has to offer - you may be surprised that none even speak our language you sophomoric fool.

@pdwa118: Well said! Thats why he/she wears the name of CLUELESS because he has no concept to the world revolving around him, he certainly doesn't listen or read the news because he was unaware of his OWN state of Oregon passing legislation to extend UI benefits because the unemployment is horrendous and that makes him CLUELESS like a Ostrich with his head in sand to hide but too stupid to realize his ass is sticking out. His comment on homelessness added to his being clueless but you put it in perspective and I doubt he will comprehend. Collecting that entitlement social security check and stocking up on the winebox sales, might add to his fuzziness on events taking place. www.american99ersunion.com

@ pdwall;

The parasitic leaches that are sucking us dry with all their government freebies AREN'T in this country illegally, they're in this country sitting in boardrooms.

AIG alone has received $189 billion...with a B...of your money just since 2008. This years Section 8 budget for example, is $17 billion. In a time when millions of jobs have been lost, it's OK to give them $189 billion because they create jobs.

It's hilarious how the Plutocracy has convinced us to think.

@Mom- what 3 jobs do you pretend to hold? That you have so much free time to spend chatting on here? Your 3 jobs must be pretty lenient to allow you to spend so much time on the internet - perhaps you are a liar and hold no job at all? If I worked 3 jobs, I would not have much time for anything else besides to eat and sleep.....perhaps you should run to those job fairs you post so diligently? And let us all know how these fairs are? Looking forward to a tried and true way of searching for a job besides the internet and job fairs - for it is WHO you know, not WHAT you know - seems to be the case nowadays. Perhaps you KNOW some people that are hiring to help us out? lol

@pdwall8. Take what she says with a grain of salt because she has been caught in more lies these past several months than you care to imagine. Its entertainment and a security blanket for her being here because she could care less about the unemployed. That has been proved! www.american99ersunion.com

Republican-majority 112th Congress WHERE IS THE JOBS BILL?????

CLUELESS. "Of all the disastrous consequences of the economic crisis, perhaps the most devastating is the idea of even more Americans struggling to feed their families. Recent statistics from the USDA indicate that 14.2 percent of the U.S. population was using food stamps in February 2011, or around 44.2 million total, up from 33 million just two years before in 2009. In 2006, the year before the financial crisis, 26.5 million people participated in the program, officially titled the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The increased rate of food stamp participation has led, in turn, to a significant increase in the... MORE

When you chicks get done with all your name-calling (because that’s how you believe you win political arguments) lol, you might want to ask the black caucus how $16 billion is supposed to provide 14 weeks to the entire unemployed population? If there are 13 million unemployed who would be eligible for HR 589 that really would cost $52Billion. (Unless each 99er will only get $20.00/week for 14 weeks.

As usual, no answer....what 3 jobs do you hold MOM to help the unemployed out so that they also can apply for these 3 jobs to keep them afloat in this horrendous crisis? Please supply an answer so that whoever reads these blogs, might also be helped by these 3 companies! Care to share? Thought not because they are non-existent.

LOL

December 2009 when the Employers told the Republicans to drop the 99ers in the bargaining and the nelp.org did just that or they wouldn't have gotten HR 4213, same B.S. in December 2010 as we remember mentioned with the Bush Tax Cuts and again – HR 4213! So now we have the “Debt Ceiling Dancarooma” thats going on and a good opportunity to get HR 589 in as a amendment. This is OUR opportunity to spread the word on this because Summer Break is right around the corner AND President is listening to his advisers AND not the people because it appears ALL are not getting the message out to the REPS in both houses and the MSM. President Obama's advisers should not take ANYTHING for granted in this volatile political climate but they're play THAT tune BUT we can change it very quickly!!! 2012 Senatorial & Presidential elections are over a YEAR away and the focus is on HR 589 + a viable JOBS BILL that missing from the Republican-Majority 112th Congress!

LOOK OUT UNEMPLOYED i.e. HR 4213 receivers.. Republicans are trying to get a bill passed which will take money from States use to pay unemployment benefits, and allow them to use that money for other purposes, such as tax cuts for businesses.

No we should do as you would and raise the tax on Business. Ya! that would get them to hire. LOL...When it comes to the economy you are 100% CLUELESS> I am sure you are one of those that gets a new credit card to pay down another card....then when you have a credit line on that card you call it "my savings account!!" Thank God you are not running the show!

Oh HideInSeek, when will you ever learn that NO ONE cares what you say except MOM? Do be gallant and leave when you are not wanted - cannot you see the forest for the trees? You are so hell bent on your negativity with Momma, that no one wants to listen anymore. Bubbye! Go to your Fish and Loaves and throw them a loaf...perhaps they will thank you for your input....sheesh.

Hi Dumb or Dumber...So now you belittle a program that feeds the poor and the sick. All the while you try to act as if you care for those in need. I see no one responding to you or your side kick? I leave you with your side kick ...so post on..lets see how many answer you...the two of you talking to yourselves! One is Dumb the other is Dumber!

IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR WORK THIS IS WHERE TO BE TODAY…

@11:06pm. I think the CLUELESS one in his/her analogy is referring to the President George W. Bush who got America into this RECESSION with 2 wars and the CREDIT CARD game you spoke of. Nothing funny about it but to small-minded people like yourself! www.american99ersunion.com

Copy/Paste because these asses aren't done yet. KEEP UP THE FIGHT FOR HR 589 despite the shenanigans taking place. http://www.addictinginfo.org/2011/03/08/things-the-republican-congress-h...

It seems the Governors across America are "Getting It"...Keep taxes low, cut spending and not being anti-Business in their plans. Both Democrats and Republican Governors. To bad Obama not getting it. Now the Union is looking for laws to keep a business from moving to non union states...giving them and the Government the power to step in and tell a business what they can do and not do. A big Job Killer...nothing to stop them from just moving out of the USA and taking jobs with them! As I have said there is no way to just write a Jobs Bill that will make Jobs. It is the attitude and direction of the Government toward Business and growth and investment that will do that. Right now Obama has the wrong direction and fare too anti-business in general. At this point the Republicans have a better view to get jobs. The Democrats over three years now with Obama has given us nothing but more debt and loss of jobs. Is that a direction of Hope that we can count on?

Shut your pete-repeat piehole - "Obama has given us nothing but more debt and loss of jobs" - the mess Obama stepped into was left by Bush. YOU and your cronies know it! Obama inherited nothing but debt and a long drawn out war and closing of businesses and job loss. Once again, you have shown your true colors - stupid and contradictory. And quit using MY words, i.e. yawn, snore, sipping off the bottle....you are certainly no leader and obviously have no spine to even think up your own words to use when commenting! You are not only clueless, but spineless as well.

pdwa

Do you even know how to compose a comment on the subject of unemployment or the economy without expressing hate & contempt for another’s opinion?

Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss how much they hate & despise other people. - ER

Why I do declare MOM - shouldn't you be at one of your 3 jobs? LOL! You and JT are such a JOKE! You both chime in at the same time - cocktail time. You have no jobs and JT has no life - perfect team you are - we shall call you two "Brainwave" and "Brainstorm" hahahahaha

pdwa118
I'm not being rude. You're just insignificant in this forum.

pdw..or should I say Dumber? You are no Lady..I am sure in your home the "F" word is used a lot. Trash talking low class loser. Unable to post even one intellect remark--sad!

Hey Brainwave, just wake up from last nights bender? lolololol

I rest my case!!!

Brainwave cannot even use his original initials along with someone elses comments! What's with the Hideinseek? Who you hiding from? The law? The FBI? Too many DUI's? I read people (mostly men) should not go on early pension, SS, or disability because they most often become alcoholics due to the feeling of worthlessness and emptiness due to not having a productive, constructive life anymore that they once had when employed - you sure fit the bill!
