U.S. Sens. Dick Durbin and Mark Kirk will hold a nuclear power safety forum in Chicago on Friday. The Senators have asked federal and state experts to be there to discuss safety and whether reactors in Illinois are ready to handle emergencies. Representatives from the Nuclear Regulatory Agency, the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, Exelon Corp., and envrionmental groups will be in attendance. Illinois has 11 nuclear reactors -- four of which have the same designs as though that led to the crisis in Japan -- the most of any state in the country.
