In his quest to find a new CEO for the Chicago Public Schools
system, Chicago mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel is searching beyond city and
state borders for candidates. Rumored candidates include Andres Alonso,
who heads Baltimore's public education system; Peter Gorman,
Superintendent of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in North Carolina; Jerry
Weast, former superintendent from Montgomery County, MD; and John White,
New York City's deputy chancellor in charge of talent, labor and
innovation in their education system.
