A new report by federal scientists is warning the Midwest states that current usage of the Great Lakes could result in lower groundwater levels. The report by the U.S. Geological Survey found that water pumped out of the lakes to bring water to Chicago and Milwaukee is causing the water levels in Lakes Michigan and Huron to fall.
