Chicago Mayor Richard Daley fired back at the General Assembly yesterday for passing cuts to the state's police and firefighter pensions. Daley said the bill (SB 3538) would force the city to fund a greater share of its pensions, adding $550 million to the budget. The angry mayor said the pension reform would increase property taxes: "From today on, you won't be able to sell your house."
