Lawyers representing former Gov. George Ryan were in court today arguing that some of the corruption convictions should be tossed out and that the imprisoned Ryan should be released from jail to care for his ill wife. Ryan's attorneys based their case on the U.S. Supreme Court decision limiting anti-fraud cases. The federal judge in Chicago said she would rule soon after hearing two hours of arguments.
