After a report was released condemning Illinois for their lack for prenatal care to female inmates, the Illinois Department of Corrections says prisoners do indeed go through disease screening and see OB/GYMs for pregnancy checkups. Prisoners are also provided with counseling, and furthermore, women within two years of their release date are eligible to take parenting classes and stay with their children up to the age of two.
