After a slow start, early voting figures are growing in Chicagoland. As of Monday, 52,900 Chicago residents had cast ballots, more than double the 2006 total. In suburban Cook County, almost 55,000 voters have already gone to the polls, an increase of roughly 22,000 from four years ago. The early polls remain open until Thursday evening.
