Using $3 million in cash from President Obama's stimulus program, Illinois is offering shoppers a 15 percent instant rebate today when they purchase Energy Star appliances, including dishwashers and refrigerators. More than 400 stores will offer rebates.
UPDATE (12:39 a.m.): The program had to be halted as soon as funds were depleted at 10:30 this morning.
