The Illinois Federation of Teachers has endorsed Democrat Dan Seals in the 10th Congressional District race. From a press release:

“Dan Seals will fight for our children and their education,” said IFT President Ed Geppert. “Dan knows that in today’s economy a quality education is the key to success. Dan has experience in the classroom and he understands the needs of teachers and students.”

"Education is a top priority to me, and I'm honored to receive the endorsement from the Illinois Federation of Teachers," said Seals. "As a father of three young daughters, I know that it is our responsibility to not only provide our children with the tools and affordable access they need to compete, but to ensure that our teachers have the resources they need as well."

Seals is committed to early education programs, overhauling the No Child Left Behind Act, providing more access to higher education and strengthening adult education. “We still face great challenges in providing a quality education to students,” Geppert said. “That’s why it’s more important now than ever to elect Dan Seals to congress.”
