Following a 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling (which we explained here), Gov. Quinn officially called a November 2 special election for a U.S. senator to fill out the remainder of Roland Burris' term. A federal judge must still decide who qualifies to run for the two-month Senate stint (between November 3 and January 3).
