Although their case was expected to extend into August, prosecutors in Rod Blagojevich's corruption trial have indicated that they will rest their case next Tuesday.
Yesterday, the government questioned former Deputy Gov. Bob Greenlee, who testified that Blagojevich told him in the winter of 2008 to withhold funding for a negotiated increase in the rates hospitals were allowed to charge for Medicaid programs. Prosecutors have accused the former governor of extorting Children’s Memorial Hospital for a campaign contribution from its CEO.
