According to Rasmussen Reports' analysis of their latest statewide Illinois poll, the U.S. Senate race remains a virtual tie, but the findings suggest that support for Mark Kirk "appears to be trending down."

Here are the topline results from the new poll (with the results of the three previous Rasmussen surveys in parentheses):

Giannoulias: 40% (39%, 38%, 37%)

Kirk: 39% (42%, 46%, 41%)
