GOP U.S. Senate nominee Mark Kirk said today that those drawing state salaries "ought to pay tax," referring to both his Democratic rival Alexi Giannoulias and Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady.
Giannoulias disclosed last week that, due to the failure of his family's bank, he will receive a $27,000 tax refund (which he said he will donate to charity). Brady, meanwhile, paid no state or federal taxes in 2008 or 2009 due to business losses.
