Gov. Pat Quinn criticized the Prisoner Review Board over the weekend for the early release of a Peoria man now charged with murder, but records reviewed by the AP show Quinn's own Corrections Department recommended the inmate serve a shorter sentence for his parole infractions than the board ultimately decided. Gubernatorial challenger Bill Brady whacked Quinn in a statement, writing that the governor "must take responsibility for his own actions and for the actions of the officials he entrusted the public safety to."
