The campaign of investment banker Joe Walsh, running as a Republican in
Illinois' 8th congressional district, is falling apart. The chairman of the Illinois Republican Party says Walsh needs to address allegations that he lied about fundraising and other issues during the primary campaign. Meanwhile, 200 volunteers and staffers -- including Walsh’s campaign manager and field director -- have left the campaign in recent weeks, citing Walsh's lack of honesty as the primary reason for quitting. Yesterday, police officers had to get involved when the two staffers were refused entrance into Walsh's campaign headquarters to retrieve personal items.
