Quigley "Still Reviewing" Health Care Bill

Rep. Mike Quigley's office told Progress Illinois this afternoon that the congressman remains undecided on health care reform and is "still reviewing" the bill.

In their latest email to supporters, the Campaign for Better Health Care listed Quigley and Reps. Dan Lipinski and Jerry Costello as the three remaining Democrats in the "still undecided or leaning no" camp.

And SEIU Illinois (which sponsors this website) is preparing a "vigil for the uninsured" at Quigley's Chicago home this weekend.

UPDATE: Our contacts at SEIU tell us that, after talking to Quigley's office, there will be no vigil over the weekend.

UPDATE II (3/20): Lynn Sweet has more on Quigley's position:

And in a surprise to Democratic vote-counters, Quigley, an abortion-rights supporter, said Friday night Obama can't count on his support if a deal is made with the anti-abortion bloc to get to 216. Moreover, Quigley wants to strip out anti-abortion language already in the legislation.

"I don't feel pressured. I feel pressure to do the right thing," Quigley told me.
