In her latest column, the SouthtownStar's Kristen McQueary writes that Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. says that the Democratic gubernatorial ticket
"needs some excitement," referring to the need to replace the party's lieutenant governor nominee. He goes on to say that "it's hard to imagine the existing candidates, who couldn't beat a
pawnbroker in the primary process, are capable of beating a lumberjack
in the general election."
Jackson is a newly-elected member of the Democratic State Central Committee, which will vote in the next few weeks to nominate a candidate for lieutenant governor.
