A new survey from Public Policy Polling shows Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias extending his lead over GOP frontrunner Mark Kirk in a hypothetical general election matchup.  Below are the results (with the findings of an April 2009 PPP poll in parentheses):

Giannoulias: 42% (33%)
Kirk: 34% (33%)

The PPP survey found that Kirk barely edges out Democratic contenders David Hoffman (37%-36%) and Cheryle Jackson (38%-36%).  Read the full memo and questionnaire below:
