Wisc. Dems Say Koch Brothers Engaging In 'Scheme To Suppress Votes'

The Democratic Party of Wisconsin filed a complaint (PDF) with the Government Accountability Board alleging that Koch the brothers-funded, Americans for Prosperity political action committee is trying to suppress Democratic votes in the upcoming Republican recall elections.

Politico originally reported that Americans for Prosperity sent out absentee ballots to two districts in the Senate recall election with a printed deadline date of "before August 11." But in reality, the deadline for absentee ballots is tomorrow, August 4. The election is August 9.

Wisconsin Recall Voters Reject “Fake” Democrats

Six GOP state Senators will face a recall election next month, opposed by a slate of Democrats that won Tuesday’s primary in which Republicans slated “fake” Democrats as part of their campaign to confuse voters and create chaos in Wisconsin polling places.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that Tuesday’s results have created a showdown in next month’s General Election and the outcome may well determine the future of Gov. Scott Walker’s controversial legislative agenda and his control of the state legislature. Read more »

Poll: Dems Could Win State Senate In Wisconsin Recall Elections

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's polarizing collective bargaining law is set to go into effect today. The bill sparked four months of protests, which continue each day at Noon at the state capitol routunda where solidarity songs and chants of "Recall Walker" can be heard, and have led to the recall elections of six Republicans and three Democrats.

New data by Public Policy Polling (PPP) shows that the Democrats could take over the state Senate in Wisconsin. Read more »

Wisconsin Supreme Court Decision Plays Into Republican Hand, Reveals Cracks Within (VIDEO)

In a 4-3 decision, the Wisconsin Supreme Court voted to uphold Gov. Scott Walker's controversial bill limiting collective bargaining rights for unions.

On CNN yesterday, former Secretary of Labor and University of California at Berkeley professor Robert Reich said the decision plays into the hands of Republicans who have long tried to dismantle both public and private sector unions. Reich says conservatives are using the fiscal woes facing many states as the perfect excuse to move forward on their anti-unions goal now. Check out his argument in the video after the jump.

Wisconsin Recall To Include Six GOP Senators

Election officials cleared the way for three additional GOP state senators to face voters this summer in a Wisconsin Recall election as the future of Gov. Scott Walker’s controversial political agenda hangs in the balance.

Three Republicans cleared for a runoff election are Sens. Alberta Darling of River Hills; Robert Cowles of Green Bay and Sheila Harsdorf of River Falls. Last week, election officials placed three other GOP Senators on the ballot: Randy Hopper of Fon du Lac; Dan Kapanke of La Crosse, and Luther Olsen of Ripon.
