Alvarez Wasn't Interested In LG Post

Given how much heat Gov. Pat Quinn has taken for overlooking Latinos when making appointments to state boards and commissions, this brief discussion on yesterday's edition of ABC 7's Newsviews jumped out at us. Apparently, following Scott Lee Cohen's withdrawal from the Democratic ticket in February, Quinn asked Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez if she'd be interested in running for lieutenant governor.  But she declined to be considered and the governor ultimately picked Sheila Simon as his running mate instead.  Watch it:
