Third Party Politics: Talking To Green Party Candidates On The 2012 Ballot

Often regarded as residing on the fringe of American politics, third parties have been viewed by their supporters as an important alternative to the platforms presented by the country’s two major parties. We talk to a couple of Green Party candidates on the ballot this year, including presidential candidate Jill Stein.

Occupy Chicago Wants Permanent Home, Walsh Calls Movement Anti-American (VIDEO)

Occupy Chicago protesters are marching this evening to call for a permanent, 24-hour space as well as for the charges to be dropped against Occupiers who have been arrested during protests.

Meanwhile, U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh, a Tea Party politician, went after Occupy protesters at a town hall meeting this weekend, calling them "anti-American" and "generally spoiled, pampered, unfocused, clueless young people."

Thousands Rally To 'Take Back Chicago', Send Message To Big Banks (VIDEO)

In an effort to "Take Back Chicago", thousands of activists and protesters from five separate rallies converged at the Art Institute of Chicago yesterday evening to draw attention to the economic crisis affecting employment, housing, and school funding.

LIVE: Wisconsinites Help Lead New Movement To Occupy D.C. (VIDEO)

A group of Wisconsin activists are helping lead the opening rally today on the latest stop of the occupation movement making its way across America, this time at Freedom Plaza in Washington D.C.

Thousands of Americans are converging on the nation's capital today as part of the October2011 movement, which is "a prolonged occupation that coincides with the 10th anniversary of the war in Afghanistan and a new federal Fiscal Year that promises austerity in everything but weapons and war," according to a release. Many of the nation's long-term unemployed have pledged to take part in the occupation beginning today.

Trader Mocks Occupy Chicago Protest, Bags Need To Keep Moving At Fed Reserve

A photo in the windows of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) building illustrate the growing tensions between some of those who work in the city's financial district and Occupy Chicago Protesters. The words "We are the 1%" were put in the window as an answer to the movement's motto, "We are the 99%", meaning not part of the richest one percent of Americans, who also seem to have the most political influence.

To add insult to injury, a well-known trader came out of the building today to record a mocking video. Meanwhile, the protesters down at the U.S. Federal Reserve Building are being told that they have the option to either keep their stuff moving or get arrested or fined.
