Should Congress impeach George W. Bush? Are undocumented aliens taking advantage of our tax dollars? These are two of the opinons expressed (and hotly debated) at the last Let's Talk Politics session.
Join us for our next discussion, and let us know how you feel about these and other topics. Let's Talk Politics is an open, but moderated, discussion about politics and the news of the day. It is open to all. So, come and voice your views, or just listen to what your neighbors have to say.
Registration in advance at TenthDemsU.org is suggested (so we have an idea of how many are coming), but is not required. Bring a friend…bring
a relative…bring anyone who wants to be a part of the discussion.

Barack Obama (who turns 47 in August) is on about to become the youngest presidential nominee since John F. Kennedy. Many say his candidacy has been led by young voters and volunteers, turning out in massive numbers. But, traditionally, young voters do not have much clout, simply because a higher percentage of older voters cast their ballot on election day than younger voters.
Will this year be different? Can Barack Obama’s candidacy make a difference? And, if it does, what impact will that have on other Democrats? Will young voters also show their support for other young candidates, such as Dan Seals, our nominee for Congress?
Probably one of the most qualified people to address these issues is Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, who at age 32 is the youngest elected state official in Illinois.
In this Tenth Dems University session, Giannoulias will talk about the issues that are most on the minds of young voters, why Barack Obama’s campaign resonates so well with this group, and how other Democrats should be reaching out to young voters and making them a part of their formula for election day success.
Tenth Dems University is operated by the Illinois Tenth Congressional District Democrats. Courses are free and open to all. To find out more, and to register in advance, go to the Tenth Dems U website. Advance registration is not required, but it is appreciated since it does help to give us an idea of how many to plan for.
