Last night, MSNBC's Ed Schultz devoted a segment of his show to the story of Hartmarx Inc., which employs 4,000 Americans, including 1,000 here in Illinois. Last week, thanks to the tenacity of the company's workers and union leaders, the bankrupt company averted liquidation and was bought by a British private equity firm. Rep. Phil Hare, a former Hartmarx employee, appeared on the show to discuss the victory. Watch it:
