IL-5: Precinct-By-Precinct Turnout Goals

The predictions for turnout in the 5th Congressional District special primary have generally fallen between 30,000 and 50,000 voters -- just a sliver of the over 600,000 residents of the district.  But what does that mean on the precinct-by-precinct level?  Given the fact that there are 578 precincts in IL-5 (486 in Chicago and 92 in the suburbs), the math is simple:

52 votes per precinct = 30,000 voters
61 votes per precinct = 35,000 voters
69 votes per precinct = 40,000 voters
78 votes per precinct = 45,000 voters
86 votes per precinct = 50,000 voters

Later today, we're going to try to provide a sampling of vote totals at various precincts around the district.  This should give us some sense of the ultimate turnout level.  (Adding ... voter turnout is never uniform across all precincts, but it's still worth trying to get some sense of the average.)
