IL-5: Feigenholtz Leads The Fundraising Pack

The pre-primary filings have been released in the 5th Congressional District race and Sara Feigenholtz is leading the field, with at least $620,000 raised over the course of the campaign.

The table below totals all contributions raised up until February 11, as well as 48-hour filings (on contributions over $1,000) submitted since then.  As you can see, we've separated the top five fundraisers from the rest of the pack.

One big surprise is Ald. Pat O'Connor's lackluster numbers.  And while Paul Bryar's total is larger than either Tom Geoghegan or Charlie Wheelan's take, if you scroll to the right you'll notice that this is because he has poured over $100,000 of his own money into his campaign (as a result, we put him in the lower tier).

At the end of the pre-primary period, the candidates' cash-on-hand totals were as follows:

Fritchey: $397,023*
Feigenholtz: $305,995
Quigley: $186,035
Geoghegan: $95,230*
Wheelan: $50,765

Also of note, the Geoghegan campaign has informed me that they have raised over $25,000 on ActBlue since February 11.

We're looking over the individual contributions and will report back later today with any interesting tidbits there.

*CORRECTION:  This posted originally included inaccurate cash-on-hand figures for Fritchey and Geoghegan.

Full disclosure: The SEIU Illinois Council -- which is the sole sponsor of Progress Illinois -- has endorsed Sara Feigenholtz in the 5th Congressional District race.
