Stern: Pass The Main Street Bailout Quickly

Like labor activists locally, SEIU International President Andy Stern wants to make sure legislators in Washington have the interests of America’s working people at heart during these tough economic times. The labor leader released a statement today calling on Congress to pass President-elect Barack Obama’s economic stimulus package quickly, even though the price tag is expected to be in the billions. TPM has the details:

“If Congress needs just three weeks to pass a Wall Street bailout, then we should be able to count on our leaders to pass Main Street relief with as much urgency. Now is the time to make that change that works by getting our economy back on track and building a country where the dreams we have for our families and our children can come true.”
