As if there was any doubt, Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) proved today that she really has no idea what she's talking about. Case in point: on MSNBC's Hardball, she listed convicted Illinois fundraiser Tony Rezko as one of the "leftists" with which Barack Obama has been associating himself. Watch it:
There are a lot of things you can call Rezko, but a "leftist" really isn't one of them. Even Chris Matthews has been paying enough attention to realize he doesn't quite belong in that category. Later in the program, the Sun-Times' Lynn Sweet later referred to the Minnesota Republican as "terribly uninformed."
To see Bachmann's full appearance in all it's McCarthyesque glory, head over to Archpundit's place.
UPDATE: TPM Election Central adds this: "[S]he also alleged that Saul Alinsky was a teacher to Obama in Chicago. Alinsky died in 1972."
UPDATE II: Here's Katrina vanden Heuvel's response:

Vote this woman out!!!
Literally, the most frightening thing I've EVER seen in my entire lifetime! Are we witnessing a new era of McCarthyism? She actually referred to liberals as "anti-American" and called for an investigation of Congress to search for and root out anti-American elected officials.
Add this to Sarah Palin's incendiary comments that Obama "pals around with terrorists" and the McCain Campaign's new robo calls claiming that Obama "worked closely" with a terrorist whose radical group "killed Americans" and you have a recipe for the next great American witch hunt and a call to violence against Obama and his fellow Democrats.
This is very dangerous rhetoric coming out of the Republican Party!!! Every American should study McCarthyism and read the Crucilble TODAY!

Illinois says Bush gave the $2000 back in 2003. They don't mention that Rezko was already maxed out to Bush when he made that donation.
