As we documented, during an appearance on WLS' Don Wade & Roma In The Morning yesterday, GOP Rep. Mark Kirk expressed his support for a policy "where if we see Obama there's a shoot-on-sight order." Take a listen:
Today, The Politico's Ryan Grim reported that Kirk apologized to Obama for mixing him up with Osama bin Laden:
"On Wednesday, I misspoke when talking with a local Chicago radio program regarding the current presidential campaign of Senator Barack Obama as well as the status of our anti-terrorism efforts against Osama Bin Laden. During the course of this conversation, I mistakenly referred to 'Osama' as 'Obama. After being alerted to my mistake, I apologized to Senator Obama for my misstatement and will take extra care to make sure I do not make such a mistake again."
But one question remains: When will Kirk apologize for his falsehoods about health care, unemployment benefits, and who's drilling in the Gulf of Mexico?

There is no doubt Kirk said this on purpose to win points with the lunatic fringe of the Republican party because he knows he needs their fund raising support to have any chance to beat Dan Seals. Kirk is a lifelong Washington insider who lives full time in DC. He travels back home rarely. His wife, who is a lobbyist in DC, is even on record for talking about how much she disdains his district. Krik is the biggest cheerleader of the failed policies of the Bush administration. He paints himself as a "so called" moderate to win over his democratic leaning district but is Bush's biggest buddy when it comes to supporting his failed policies on Iraq, Energy and Health Care. Once the Obama fund raising machine gears up for Seals and Kirk is exposed for who he really is, this thing is over and Kirk knows it.

I emailed Don & Roma, three times, and I asked them to ask Rep. Kirk why he's a Republican, although he's more liberal than many Democrats. His latest rating from NARAL is 100%, and his latest rating from Gun Owners of America is 0%. He supports gay marriage, and he was the leading Republican congressman who opposed the Iraq surge.
