Poll: 89 Percent Support Illinois Clean Car Act

Prairie State Blue highlights an encouraging poll (pdf) commissioned last week by a coalition of environmental groups known as the Illinois Climate Action Network.  According to the survey, 89 percent of Illinois residents support the Clean Car Act even if it results in more up-front costs for vehicles. Jack Darin, director of the Sierra Club's Illinois chapter, is pleased:

"What's so encouraging about the poll results is that they're close to uniform statewide. Adopting the Clean Car Standards totally unites our state. Urban folks, rural folks-everyone wants more fuel efficient, cleaner cars, SUVs, and pick-ups."
