Props to Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Barbara Boxer (D-CA) for pressing the Environmental Protection Agency on its firing of Midwest Administrator Mary Gade. Via the Tribune:
The senators asked the EPA if Gade was asked to resign and whether the White House or Dow Chemical were involved in any discussions surrounding Gade's potential departure. They also want Gade's most recent job performance evaluation.
"It is important for there to be a full explanation of the circumstances surrounding Ms. Gade's allegedly forced resignation," Boxer and Whitehouse wrote in a letter to EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson.
The Washington Independent provides the full letter here (pdf), which the EPA says it "will review and respond to ... appropriately." You can read our earlier coverage of the Gade firing here, here, and here.
